PSAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week - 7

Lock Haven, Pa: Lyndsie Bernardini and Paula Jackson are this week’s Athletes of the Week after each recorded a pair of shutouts on the week. Bernardini had the fourth-best GAA in Division II going into week seven, while Jackson continues to keep her team on a five-game winning streak and at the top of the Eastern Division with an 8-1-0 record.


Eastern Division

Rookie goalkeeper Lyndsie Bernardini registered two shutouts between the posts after No. 9 West Chester picked up two more wins for the week. Within the two games she had seven saves while already holding the fourth best GAA in Division II heading into the week. She has now extended her consecutive scoreless string to 683 minutes and has led her team to a five-game win streak. She has recorded nine shutouts on the season, only one shy of West Chester’s single-season mark.


Western Division
Paula Jackson- California

Paula Jackson continues to hold her ground between the posts for the Vulcans, recording a pair of shutouts and only allowing two goals in Cal’s 2-0-1 week. She finished the week with a 0.62 GAA (goals against average) and collected eight saves on 27 shot attempts. In the 0-0 double-overtime tie against Slippery Rock, she had four saves and collected three saves in the 3-2 victory over Bloomsburg during Saturday’s PSAC Crossover play. For the season, she has posted six shutouts and allowed only 11 goals in 1,200 minutes of play.
