The list of outstanding performances by PSAC freshmen continues to grow.  This time California rookie MARIA LOPEZ has been selected as the league's Athlete of the Week in Women's Golf.

Lopez helped her Vulcan squad to the team title at the Holiday Inn Colonial Classic hosted by Robert Morris this past Monday and Tuesday.  Lopez shot a team best 166, one stroke ahead of teammate Lorena Aranda, to ignite California's 10-stroke victory over Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.  The Vulcans were the only Division II team in the field, made up of four other Division I teams. 

Lopez finished fourth overall, but was second among "attached" players who counted toward the team score.  After shooting an opening round 87, she rebounded to card a 79 in the final round, the best day-two score among players counting in the team totals.
