PSAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week - 8
Lock Haven, Pa: Matt Langione and Jeremy Deighton displayed top performances for their teams that reign at the top of their divisions and are this week’s PSAC Athletes of the Week. Langione picked up his 40th win as a Marauder, recording his 13th win and 7th shutout of the season. Deighton added three more goals to put him at 14 on the season, putting him at the top in the PSAC.
Eastern Division

Goalkeeper Matt Langione stood tall picking up his 40th career win at goal and is this week’s PSAC Athlete of the Week for the Eastern Division. Langione led the No. 3 Marauders to two more wins this week, not allowing a goal in 70+ minutes of play in the 3-0 win over District of Colombia. The win was recorded as the 39th for Langione as the Marauder’s goalkeeper and a new school record. He has now recorded 10 shutouts on the season, tying the school record set during 2002 season. His 0.69 goals against average put him first amongst all goaltenders that have 10+ appearances. He also leads the conference in shutouts (7) and wins (13). In Friday’s game against West Chester, he came up with three big saves and picked up his 40th career win. For almost the entire second half Millersville played with a man down and thanks to Langione’s strong play between the post West Chester was unable to tie the game up late in the game.

Jeremy Deighton-Slippery Rock

Broadview Heights, Ohio/ St. Ignatius
Senior Jeremy Deighton is this week’s PSAC Athlete of the Week for the Western Division after leading the Rock to a 2-0 week dominating Seton Hill and Bloomsburg. Deighton took control, scoring three goals and adding one assist in the two shutout wins for the Rock putting them at 13-2 overall. Against Atlantic Region rival Seton Hill, Deighton scored two goals in the 4-0 victory, including one game-winner. On Saturday in the 2-0 win against Bloomsburg, Deighton started the game by assisting on the first goal by Iain Langstone in the 8th minute of play. He later added an insurance goal in the 65th minute when his diving header off of a long crossing pass found its’ way to the back of the net. Deighton leads the Rock and the PSAC in goals scored with 14, with six of them being game-winners.
