PSAC Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week

Lock Haven, Pa: Young talents Tyler Phillips and Kenneth Fultz posted multiple-goal games and are this week’s PSAC Athletes of the Week. Fultz scored five goals on the week after he netted his first two goals of the season against Davis Elkins and a hat trick against University of D.C. Phillips kept the momentum going for the Huskies, scoring three goals on the week in route of a PSAC playoff berth.

Rookie Tyler Phillips scored three goals to lead the Huskies to a 2-0 week. In the 2-0 win over Chestnut Hill College, Phillips scored in the 30th minute off a rebound to put the Huskies up 1-0. His second goal was in the last six minutes of play when he received a pass from Marcus Valeriano to secure the game. Against Shippensburg, the freshman started scored his 10th goal of the season at the seven-minute mark to put his team on the board first. Bloomsburg captured the 4-2 victory against the Raiders to move one step closer to the PSAC playoffs.

Kenneth Fultz- Slippery Rock

Sophomore Kenneth Fultz scored five of the Rock’s ten goals during their perfect 2-0 week. Fultz scored his first two goal of the season in the 5-0 victory against Davis & Elkins (No. 6 in the NCAA Atlantic Region). On Saturday, the Rock dominated once again with a 5-0 win against University of D.C. Fultz posted his first career hat trick, scoring three goals, including a penalty kick. His first goal was off an unassisted marker in the 35th minute, before converting a penalty kick in the 45th minute. He completed his hat trick in the 64th minute when he scored to the left side of the net off an assist from Josh Gauger. Slippery Rock clinched a PSAC playoff berth and improved their record to 15-2 overall.
