PSAC Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week - 9

Lock Haven, Pa: Christie Naumann and Renata da Silva continued to dominate on the court and helped their respective teams to a 3-0 perfect week. Naumann picked up her second PSAC Athlete of the Week honor this season after she totaled a team high 31 kills and 33 digs in the two matches she played last week against Kutztown and West Chester. Da Silva posted 112 assists over the course of Cal’s last three matches 


Eastern Division
Christie Naumann-Lock Haven
Senior / Outside Hitter
Charter Towers, Australia / Gladstone

Veteran Christie Naumann dominated in two of the Lady Eagles three matches last week helping them to a 3-0 week. Naumann posted a team-high 31 kills and collected 33 dig in the two matches. In the five set win over Kutztown, she recorded 18 kills and 15 digs. At West Chester she continued her solid play leading the Lady Eagles to a 3-1 victory. She knocked down 13 kills, added 18 digs and hit an impressive .440. Lock Haven extended their winning streak to 19 matches and improved to a 27-4 overall record and are 14-2 in PSAC competition.


Western Division
Renata da Silva
Senior/ Setter
Sao Paulo, Brazil / Colegio Ateneu

Veteran Renata da Silva totaled 112 assists, 13 kills, 21 digs and 4 blocks to help the Vulcans' to a 3-0 record last week. On the road win against Edinboro, she recorded 45 assists, eight digs and four kills in four sets. On Saturday, Cal. swept Gannon as the senior collected 33 assists, eight digs, six kills and three blocks. She finished the weekend off with a solid performance at Findlay and collected 34 assists and five digs. The Vulcan are now at a perfect 15-0 in PSAC play and have a 25-5 overall record.
