C.W. Post quarterback Eric Anderwkavich accounted for all six of the Pioneers' touchdowns in a win over Kutztown and for his efforts, he becomes the second different Pioneer to be named the PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week this year. West Chester linebacker Mike Dell keyed the Golden Rams' defensive effort in their win over Bloomsburg and is this week's PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week. Clarion swept both West awards, with quarterback Tyler Huether earning the Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker Reggie Robinson earning the Defensive Player of the Week after both played key roles in the Golden Eagles' win over Edinboro.
This week marked the conclusion of divisional play in the PSAC this year and with its win yesterday combined with Bloomsburg's loss, Shippensburg wrapped up the outright Eastern Division title for the first time ever, as the Red Raiders moved over from the PSAC West to the PSAC East last year. It is the Raiders' first divisional title since 2004, when they earned a share of the Western title, and it is their first outright divisional title since 1981. The Red Raiders will host California next week in the PSAC championship game. The Vulcans, who clinched their spot in the title game last week, clinched their third straight outright PSAC West title with a win yesterday. The California-Shippensburg game was on the original PSAC schedule for the year, meaning there will not be any changes to the schedule this week as all of the originally scheduled games will be played as scheduled.

Eric Anderwkavich, C.W. Post
QB, Jr., Queens, N.Y./Holy Cross
Anderwkavich accounted for all six of C.W. Post’s touchdowns and 367 yards of total offense in a 42-17 win over Kutztown. He completed 21-of-33 passes (63.6 percent) for 302 yards and four TDs without an interception and was only sacked just once. He was also Post’s leading rusher on the day, gaining 65 yards on just 11 attempts (5.9 ypc) with two TDs. Anderwkavich threw two TD passes in the first quarter, both from 25 yards or more, to give the Pioneers a 14-0 lead less than five minutes into the game. He added a four-yard TD strike and a 26-yard TD run in the second quarter, giving Post a 28-10 lead at the half, and he then threw a 15-yard pass and ran one in from two yards out in the third quarter to wrap up the scoring.
PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week
Mike Dell, West Chester
LB, Sr., Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin
Dell led the West Chester defensive effort against Bloomsburg that held the Huskies to a season-low 47 rushing yards and just 3-of-11 on third down conversions, helping the Golden Rams defeat Bloomsburg for the third straight time in the regular season. Dell recorded nine tackles, including seven solo, had a tackle for loss that was a sack, and a forced fumble along with two quarterback hurries. The forced fumble came on Bloomsburg’s final drive of the game, sealing the victory for the Golden Rams.
PSAC West Offensive Player of the Week
Tyler Huether, Clarion
QB, Sr., Irwin, Pa./Penn Trafford
Huether totaled 260 yards of total offense and three touchdowns as he helped lead Clarion to a 30-17 win over Edinboro to wrap up second place in the PSAC West for the Golden Eagles. Huether completed 14-of-24 passes (58.3 percent) for 169 yards and ran 16 times for 91 yards (5.7 ypc) and three touchdowns. Two of his TD runs came in the second half as he helped rally the Golden Eagles from a 17-6 halftime deficit and scored 24 unanswered points in the second half. He scored on a five-yard run in the first half, bringing Clarion within 7-6 and his one-yard run near the end of the third quarter on a fourth-and-goal play to cut Edinboro’s lead to 17-14. His second one-yard run of the game put the Eagles up for good at 20-17 early in the fourth quarter and capped an 80-yard, 13-play drive in which he was 5-for-5 passing for 50 yards.
PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week
Reggie Robinson, Clarion
LB, So., Pittsburgh, Pa./Brashear
In his first start of the year at linebacker for the Golden Eagles, Robinson made the most of it as he recorded eight tackles (four solo), one tackle for loss and blocked a punt to help Clarion top Edinboro 30-17. His tackle for loss in the first quarter on Edinboro’s first drive of the game stopped the Fighting Scots’ Trevor Harris on a fourth-and-goal play from the Edinboro 2-yardline for a two-yard loss, stopping the drive. In the fourth quarter, he blocked an Edinboro punt that went out of the end zone for a Clarion safety, giving the Golden Eagles a 22-17 lead with 3:51 left in the game.
Team Notes
Bloomsburg Huskies
The Huskies suffered their biggest defeat (16 points) since a 2007 match up against West Chester when they lost by 16 points…Bloomsburg has dropped consecutive games for the first time early in the 2007 season…The Huskies have not dropped three consecutive games since the 1993 season...QB Dan Latorre passed for a career-high 350 yards and went over 7,000 yards for his career. He now has 7,265 career passing yards and is just 210 yards shy of passing Eric Miller for the school’s all-time lead in the category…TB Stefan Adams caught a career-high six passes in the game with West Chester…LB Anthony Smith had 11 tackles against WCU making it six games this season that the senior has surpassed 10 tackles in a game…K Jon Koenig connected on two more extra points and now has made 91 straight dating back to the 2007 season.
California Vulcans
Cal U has earned five-straight PSAC West titles, including three-consecutive outright crowns after Saturday's win over Mercyhurst…Cal U will make its second-straight appearance and four overall in the PSAC Championship…The Vulcans will face former divisional rival Shippensburg in next week's PSAC Championship…Despite Cal U winning the last three meetings, Shippensburg lead the all-time series 41-28-1…The Vulcans have posted three-straight undefeated seasons in divisional play and won a total of 19-straight games against PSAC West opponents…LB Dontey Brown recorded 17 tackles (seven solo) against Mercyhurst, the most by a Vulcan since 2004…After having only three interceptions in the first eight games of the year, Cal U has seven interceptions in the last two weeks…The Lakers' Ben Jennings became the first player this season to rush for 100 yards against the Vulcans.
Cheyney Wolves
Joe Morris registered a season high eight solo tackles to go with an interception...John Newman’s 81 yards rushing was a season high as was his 75 scamper around right end to set up the Wolves first quarter touchdown...Stan Banks recorded his third interception of the season. He leads Cheyney in that category…Tim Hume recorded sacks on back to back plays. He now has four on the year, second on the Wolves...Cheyney recorded four sacks, tying a season high...Cheyney rushed the ball 30 times, a season low…The time of next week’s game against Clarion has been moved up to noon in O'Shields-Stevenson Stadium on the Cheyney campus...The Wolves will honor the 10 seniors on the team in a pre-game ceremony.

C.W. Post won its third straight game with a 42-17 win at home against Kutztown Saturday afternoon…Jr. QB Eric Anderwkavich completed four touchdown passes and rushed in two more… Anderwkavich completed the game with 65 rushing yards and completed 21 of 33 pass attempts for 302 yards and four touchdowns…Anderwkavich has passed for 1,795 yards this season and is ranked third in the PSAC with a 146.4 pass efficiency rating…On the receiving end was junior Darnal Williams who caught eight passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns…Sr. OLB Tayrance Smith and Gr. LB Peter Manns each made 10 tackles on the day…The Pioneers remain the top offensive team in the PSAC (413.5 yds/game)and lead the conference in rushing yards with 218 yards a game…C.W. Post closes out the regular season next week with a meeting at home against Lock Haven.
East Stroudsburg Warriors
ESU outgained Millersville 504-227 and Fr. TBs Eric Deery (18 carries, 102 yards) and Kendrick Williams (19-96, 1 TD) starred in ESU's 44-3 win...ESU forced four turnovers and leads the PSAC with 26 takeaways...Jr. WR Ed Kiser went over 1,000 career receiving yards (1,042), joining Sr. Sam Shuman (1,966) and Jr. Jeff Giglio (1,647)...Jr. QB Matt Marshall can become the fourth Warrior QB with 2,500 passing yards next week, entering with 2,353 yards and 20 TD...Jr. OLB Matt Freed went over 100 tackles for the second straight season with 126 last year and 101 this year (first ESU player since Kevin Nagle, 1998-2000)...Jr. DE Jeff Case had three sacks...Head coach Denny Douds (SRU '63) hosts his alma mater next Saturday...Douds is 2-8 vs. the Rock with a 38-21 win on the road last year.
Edinboro Fighting Scots
Edinboro saw its six-game winning streak against Clarion snapped in the 30-17 loss to the Golden Eagles...Edinboro led 17-6 at the half, but with QB Trevor Harris on the sideline with an injury Clarion outscored the Fighting Scots 24-0...Edinboro outgained Clarion 172 yards to 72 yards in the first half, but the Fighting Scots managed just 63 yards and five first downs in the second half, with three of the first downs via penalty...Harris moved into 11th place in NCAA Division II in career yards passing (10,971) and career total offense (11,713) before departing late in the first half...He also saw his streak of games with at least one touchdown pass come to an end at 34...Edinboro was minus four starters on defense due to injuries...CB Brandon Williams scored his fourth career touchdown when he returned a fumble three yards for a touchdown.
Gannon Golden Knights
Gannon extended its win streak to three games with a 29-3 victory at IUP. It marks the program’s first three-game win streak since the program won its final two games in 2004 and first contest in 2005...In the process, the Golden Knights held their opponent to three points or less in back-to-back games for the first time in a season since opening the 1993 campaign with back-to-back shutouts of St. Francis (Pa.) (20-0) and Waynesburg (9-0)...Jr. Parris Williams recorded his first two career interceptions...Jr. Zach Boedicker accounted for at least three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) for the second time in three weeks...So. Randy Colling recorded career-highs in tackles (7) and tackles for a loss (3)...Sr. TB Jon Richardson needs 134 yards in the season finale at Bloomsburg to become the fifth player in school history to record a 1,000-yard rushing season.
IUP Crimson Hawks
IUP will have its first losing season since 1982 after dropping to 4-6 with a 29-3 loss to Gannon…The Crimson Hawks were held to 116 yards of total offense, the lowest since gaining 94 versus Edinboro in 1981…Tobias Robinson rushed for 33 yards and increased his total to 2,142 to climb to ninth in school history…Mychal Skinner became the 14th IUP player with 100 receptions, finishing the day with 101…Craig Burgess kicked his 29th field goal to tie Josh Telenko for second place, one behind record holder John Sandstrom…IUP wraps up its season Saturday with its first trip to Kutztown since 1986.
Kutztown Golden Bears
Chris McCormick caught his sixth touchdown pass of the season...Kutztown finished with a 2-4 road record...Kevin Morton has thrown for at least 200 yards in three straight games...Overall, he has thrown for at least 200 yards in four of his starts...Shane Martin has caught 24 passes this season...Kutztown does not have any return yardage on any of their turnovers gained...Matt Dineen extended his single-season field goal school record to 15...Jr. Khalief Evans finished with a season-high 11 tackles against C.W. Post...Kevin Bolinsky collected another sack against C.W. Post. He has 8.5 sacks this season...The Golden Bears are 1-3 at home this season...Kutztown has allowed 42 points in consecutive games, the first time since 2006 that Kutztown has allowed teams to score 40 or more points in consecutive weeks.
Lock Haven Bald Eagles
Lock Haven lost its 20th straight game on Saturday, as the Bald Eagles fell to visiting Slippery Rock 47-6...Lock Haven falls to 0-9 overall and 0-7 in PSAC West play...Lock Haven got a tremendous effort from senior Dean Tortorice, who made a game-high nine stops. Tortorice made is final game at home a memorable one and finished with eight solo stops, two tackles for a loss and a forced fumble, as he did everything he could to help Lock Haven’s effort...Wes Plummer was solid for LHU and made seven tackles, including six solo stops and one tackle for a loss. Lock Haven closes out the season next weekend at C.W. Post.
Mercyhurst Lakers
Mercyhurst dropped a 28-7 decision at No. 20 California... it was just the second time this season that Mercyhurst had been held to seven points... The other was a 17-7 decision to then-ranked No. 5 Bloomsburg...TE Josh Szeluga posted the Lakers only score with a receiving touchdown that moved him into a tie for the team lead with three touchdown receptions...Ryan Taylor recorded his first career interception...RB Ben Jennings posted his second +100 yard rushing game of the season...the Lakers conclude the 2009 season against West Chester... It will be the first career meeting between the two teams as the Golden Rams were scheduled to play Mercyhurst but instead advanced to the State Game a year ago.
Millersville Marauders
Millersville rushed for more than 100 yards for the fifth time in the last six games and was led by Brad Lantz's 82 yards, which gives him 2,566 for his career and moves him into fourth place on Millersville's career rushing list. He also totaled 106 all-purpose yards to move him into seventh place among Millersville's career leaders...Fr. Pat Maloney recorded the first double-digit tackle performance of his career with 15...After totaling 10 tackles in the first seven weeks of the season, Maloney has 26 stops in the last three weeks...Ryan Christian also matched a career high with 13 tackles, and he has had 10 or more tackles in back-to-back games...Julius Carter intercepted a pass, giving him two on the season and marking the first time in his four-year career he has picked off two passes in the same year...Four Millersville players now have two interceptions...Shane Gross' sack was his fourth of the year. He had zero career sacks entering the 2009 season.
Shippensburg Red Raiders
Shippensburg earned its first divisional championship since 2004 and will play in its first conference championship game in 28 years...By virtue of West Chester's 30-14 victory over Bloomsburg, the Red Raiders earned their first outright divisional title since winning the Western Division in 1981...Saturday marked Shippensburg's first game at Cheyney in 21 years...Fr. Kevin Herod battled for a career-high 112 yards on 27 carries with one touchdown, averaging 4.1 yards per carry...SU has reached 8+ wins for the 10th time in school history and the first since 2004...The Red Raiders have thrown 23 touchdown passes this season, the most in a campaign since 1999 and the third-most in SU single-season history…Eight of Sr. TE Mark Rossi's 17 receptions this season have been for touchdowns…SU will host California (Pa.) on Saturday…The Vulcans have won the last three meetings between the teams.
Slippery Rock - The Rock
The Rock defense forced Lock Haven into 11 fumbles Saturday, four of which The Rock recovered; recorded six QB sacks for minus-47 yards, blocked three punts and intercepted one pass en route holding the Bald Eagles to minus-11 yards in total offense ... The win, SRU's 21st straight against LHU, assured The Rock of a winning season ... Akeem Satterfield scored his first two collegiate rushing TDs and went over the 100-yard for the first time in his career with 107 yards on 19 carries ... True freshman QB Ryan O'Rourke passed for 124 yards and one TD in his first collegiate start ... Defensively, Scott Kachurik had four tackles for loss, Andre Freeman blocked two punts and Pat Marsilio had two QB sacks ... Saturday's win extended SRU's unbeaten streak vs. LHU to 29 seasons ... West Chester downed visiting Bloomsburg, 30-14, Saturday at John A. Farrell Stadium...The win was West Chester's third in the last four meetings against Bloomsburg...Bloomsburg has not beaten West Chester at Farrell Stadium since 2000 (4-0)...WCU head coach Bill Zwaan is now 5-4 against Bloomsburg...Bloomsburg's 47 yards rushing marked the third straight week that WCU has allowed fewer than 100 yards rushing to an opponent and the seventh time overall this year...West Chester's 30 points were the most allowed by Bloomsburg all year...WR Dan DePalma recorded his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the year and his second multi-TD game...QB Joe Wright threw for a season-high 326 yards.
