Slippery Rock’s KAYLA BLACKBURN and Kutztown’s SABRINA ARNAUD had strong showings on their squads’ respective southern trips. For their efforts, they have been recognized as the PSAC Athletes of the Week for women’s tennis.

Kayla Blackburn – Slippery Rock

Blackburn was one of the team’s top performers on last week’s spring trip to Orlando, Fla., going 4-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-1 at No. 1 doubles. She was a key component in the team’s 5-4 win over Lake Superior St., posting a 6-0, 6-2 win in singles and an 8-2 win in doubles. Another notable effort came in a 7-2 loss to No. 16 Grand Valley St., where she narrowly lost a 9-8 decision in doubles and posted a 7-5, 6-0 singles victory.
Eastern Division
Sabrina Arnaud – Kutztown
Junior

Arnaud helped Kutztown register a 1-1 record on its trip last week to Hilton Head, S.C. In a 9-0 victory over York College, she chalked up a pair of shutouts, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles and 8-0 at No. 2 doubles with partner Nicole Devine. In a 5-4 loss to UNC-Pembroke, she and Devine posted the only doubles win for the Golden Bears with an 8-2 decision. She also was one of three singles winners for Kutztown, racking up a 6-2, 6-0 victory. For the season, Arnaud improved to 6-3 in singles and 5-2 with Devine.
