Mercyhurst junior ANDY LAMANCUSA qualified for the NCAA II Wrestling Championships for the third straight season and has earned accolades as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week.

Lamancusa won the NCAA Super Region One crown at the 157-pound weight class, marking his third straight regional title and automatic berth in the NCAA Championships. 

Lamancusa racked up a 16-5 major decision in the semifinals to claim a school-record setting 20th major decision on the season.  In the finals, he led by a 6-3 count over Anderson's J.J. Jackson before the match was halted for an injury default, his 15th straight triumph heading into the national tournament. 

With the win, he improved to 33-9 on the season and needs just one more victory to match the single-season record shared by Brian Pogel and Hudson Harrison.
