West Chester’s COURTNEY WHITING is the PSAC East Player of the Week for the second time in the first three weeks of the season while Gannon’s MARY ESHENOUR becomes the second different Gannon player to be named PSAC West Player of the Week this year. 


PSAC East Player of the Week
Courtney Whiting, West Chester

Whiting earns her second PSAC East Player of the Week award of the year after doing a little bit of everything to help West Chester to a pair of wins over Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg over the last week. On the week, she scored six goals, picked up four ground balls and secured eight draw controls. She scored four goals, picked up two ground balls and won three draw controls against Bloomsburg, helping the Rams earn a 13-7 advantage in draw controls and hold the Huskies scoreless in the second half. Three of her four goals came in a 10-minute span in the first half that helped West Chester turn a close 3-1 game into a 10-1 advantage. She then scored two goals, picked up three ground balls and won five draws while also causing two turnovers in a win over East Stroudsburg.

Mary Eshenour, Gannon
Sophomore, Midfielder
Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo

Eshenour earns her first PSAC West Player of the Week award of the year after scoring 13 goals, including a game-winner, to help Gannon to a 3-0 week last week with wins over IUP, Niagara and Edinboro. On the week, she also recorded eight ground balls, nine draw controls and caused four turnovers. She scored four goals, including the game-winner in a road win over IUP and then a day later, netted four more goals, including two in the second half, to help the Golden Knights knock off Division I Niagara on the road by a 12-8 score. She finished off the week by scoring five goals on just six shots while also adding five ground balls, four draw controls and a caused turnover in a win over Edinboro. Eshenour has now scored at least one goal in all 22 matches in her two-year career. She is the second Golden Knight to be honored as the West Player of the Week this year, joining teammate Taryn Millerd, who was honored the first week of the season.
