Slippery Rock’s KAYLA BLACKBURN became the winningest player in school history, headlining the selections for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week in Women’s Tennis.

Blackburn went undefeated in winning singles and doubles matches, propelling her squad to identical 8-1 wins over Holy Family and Millersville. She and No. 1 doubles partner Jessica Hiborn collected 8-3 wins in both of their matches this weekend. Playing at No. 1 singels, Blackburn recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win against Holy Family and followed that with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Millersville. The wins in the match against Millersville gave her 179 for her career, the most ever for a Rock women’s tennis player.

Kaufman picked up a pair of impressive victories during the Warriors only match of the week, a 9-0 triumph over Georgian Court. The first-year player moved to 6-5 in singles play with a 10-5 victory against Georgian Court’s No. 1 player, and added an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles to even her record at 3-3 on the season.
