PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week - 4

Lock Haven, Pa. - Millersville’s LIZ WEEKLEY, who reached the 100-goal milestone in her career last week, and Mercyhurst’s BREANNA HAGGERTY, who helped the Lakers knock off two top five opponents in a 3-0 week last week, are this week’s PSAC Lacrosse East and West Players of the Week.


PSAC East Player of the Week
Liz Weekley, Millersville
Junior, Attacker
Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown

Weekley tallied 13 points on nine goals and four assists in three games last week for Millersville, helping the Marauders to a 2-1 week. She also recorded a total of 14 ground balls, 10 draw controls and five caused turnovers. She started the week with a goal and an assist along with four ground balls and five draw controls in a loss to West Chester. She then scored three goals, seven ground balls and caused five turnovers in a win over Slippery Rock before going for five goals, three assists, three ground balls and four draw controls in a win over Seton Hill. Weekley became the ninth player in Millersville history to score 100 career goals.


PSAC West Player of the Week
Breanna Haggerty, Mercyhurst

Haggerty scored 16 goals and recorded an assist in a 3-0 week for Mercyhurst last week, which included two wins over top five opponents. In addition to her 17 points, she had one game-winning goals, four ground balls and three draw controls. She opened the week by scoring five goals on nine shots with a ground ball and a draw control in a one-goal win for the Lakers over Lock Haven that saw the Lakers score the game-tying and game-winning goals both in the final six minutes of the game. Against West Chester, she scored three goals on six shots, including the game-winning tally with 6:36 remaining as the Lakers rallied from a five-goal deficit in the first half to knock off No. 1 West Chester. Then, in a one-goal win over Bloomsburg, she tallied over half of the team’s goals with nine points on eight goals and an assist along with two grounds ball and a draw control to help the Lakers stay undefeated on the season. Haggerty is the second different Mercyhurst player to earn PSAC West Player of the Week honors this season.
