PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week - 7

Millersville’s LIZ WEEKLEY is this week’s PSAC East Player of the Week for the second time this year after helping lead the Marauders to a 2-1 week. Gannon’s COLLEEN DIXON is this week’s PSAC West Player of the Week after helping lead the Golden Knights to a 2-0 week. She is the third different Gannon player to earn the honor this year.


PSAC East Player of the Week

Weekley earns her second PSAC East Player of the Week honor of the season after totaling 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in Millersville’s 2-1 week last week. She notched her second nine-point effort of the year with a season-high seven goals as well as two assists in a win over Kutztown last Tuesday. On Sunday, she scored twice and added four assists for six points in a non-conference win over Regis. In between, she also added a goal in a loss to West Chester. For the week, she also had a total of five ground balls and six draw controls.


PSAC West Player of the Week
Colleen Dixon, Gannon
Senior, Midfielder
Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette

Dixon recorded a total of 16 points on nine goals and seven assists to help lead Gannon to a 2-0 week with wins over Slippery Rock and IUP. She also added a total of six ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers. The senior midfielder opened the week by scoring four goals and recording three assists against Slippery Rock. She then turned in a five-goal, four-assist performance against IUP, which extended her streak of consecutive games with a goal to 32 dating back to the 2007 season. Dixon is the third different Golden Knight to capture the PSAC West Player of the Week award this year, joining teammates Taryn Millerd and Mary Eshenour from earlier this season.
