California’s ALINA STANILA and Bloomsburg’s KATIE HASYN both went undefeated as their teams both went 3-0. For their efforts, they have been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week in Women’s Tennis.

Women’s Tennis

Western Division
Anila Stanila - California
Freshman
Alexandria, Romania

Stanila went a combined 5-0 in three PSAC-West matches, helping her California squad post wins in all three matches. Two of her victories came at No. 2 singles, where she surrendered only one point in straight set wins against Mercyhurst and Clarion. With partner Helena VanEysendeyk, Stanila was 3-0 at No. 1 doubles, again, only giving up one point over the three-match span. Ranked second in the region, Stanila improved her over all singles mark to 24-4 for the year.


Eastern Division
Katie Hasyn - Bloomsburg
Junior
Lansdale (North Penn)

Hasyn was victorious in all five of her matches, as Bloomsburg picked up three more wins on the season. She won all three singles matches while playing at No. 1, including a 6-2, 6-3 decision vs. West Chester and a 6-4, 6-2 decision vs. Adelphi. She also picked up a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles, outscoring opponents by a 16-3 count.
