Indiana, Pa. - Darryl Webb scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and IUP trailed only once in the game as the Crimson Hawks topped West Liberty 84-72 in the Atlantic Regional championship game on Tuesday night to advance to the NCAA Elite Eight.

The Crimson Hawks held the high-scoring Hilltoppers, who had attempted nearly 1,000 three-pointers on the season entering the game, to just 6-of-27 shooting from beyond the arc (22.2%) and outrebounded West Liberty 37-28. Webb was just one of four IUP players in double figures as Julian Sanders had 17, Akida McLain added 16 and Kevin Stewart had 11. PSAC West Player of the Year Thomas Young was held to just four points but he dished out seven assists and had only two turnovers.

This year marks the third straight year that a PSAC team has won the Atlantic Regional, following Gannon last year and California in 2008. For the Crimson Hawks, it is their first regional title since 2002 and their fifth overall. They will attempt to become the first PSAC team to win a game at the Elite Eight since 2002, when IUP advanced to the semifinals in their last appearance at the Elite Eight. IUP will take on Valdosta State next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Springfield, Mass.
