PSAC Women's Basketball Weekly Release - Mar. 22 (pdf)
The Gannon women's basketball team will take its 36-0 record into the NCAA Division II Women's Elite Eight being held in St. Joseph, Mo. this week. The national quarterfinals will be held on Tuesday, March 23, and the Golden Knights will open against Tusculum at 7:00 p.m. (ET). If victorious, they would face the winner of the Emporia State-Michigan Tech game on Wednesday at either 6:00 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26.
All quarterfinal games will be webcast on NCAA.com. Both semifinal games will televised live by ESPNU on Wednesday, while the semifinal will be shown live on ESPN2 on Friday.

Gannon Golden Knights
One week after winning the first PSAC Championship in program history, Gannon won the 2010 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship Game...It represented the program’s first-ever regional title and advances the Lady Knights to their first-ever NCAA Division II Elite Eight...The Lady Knights have been ranked No. 1 in the last three USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll...Gannon has tied the NCAA Division II record for victories in a season (36) and has set an NCAA Division II record for consecutive wins in a season (36)...The Lady Knights' current win streak is second in the nation in all divisions behind only NCAA Division I Connecticut's 72-game win streak. Gannon is only undefeated team in NCAA Division II and one of only two undefeated women's teams at any level of the NCAA...Brittany Tabron was named Regional MVP after averaging 15.3 points and 13.7 rebounds in three games.

NCAA Elite Eight Quick Hits
- This is Gannon’s first-ever appearance at the NCAA Elite Eight.
- The Golden Knights are looking to become the first PSAC team to win a game at the Elite Eight since California in 2004, which was also the last time a PSAC team won the national championship.
- Gannon is the first PSAC team other than Cal to advance to the Elite Eight since Shippensburg in 2001.
- Gannon will enter the Elite Eight as the only unbeaten team in Division II and one of only two unbeaten teams in the NCAA in any division. Division I Connecticut is the only other undefeated team after previously unbeaten Division III Amherst was defeated in the D-III semifinals last weekend.
- The Golden Knights are looking to become the first undefeated NCAA Division II champion since North Dakota State in 1995.
- If they are able to do so, they would become only the second-ever undefeated NCAA Division II champion, as NDSU in 1995has been the only undefeated national champion in the history of the women’s basketball tournament in Division II.
