PSAC Lacrosse Athletes of the Week - 3

Lock Haven, Pa. - Bloomsburg’s Allie Kakareka is this week’s PSAC East Player of the Week and Lock Haven’s Leigh Titus is this week’s PSAC West Player of the Week. Both lacrosse standouts led their respective teams to 2-0 records last week while compiling a combined total of 16 goals and 19 points.  


PSAC East Player of the Week
Allie Kakareka, Bloomsburg

Kakareka helped lead the Huskies to a 2-0 week with wins over East Stroudsburg and Molloy by recording a total of six goals on just eight shots and adding two assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers. In a 13-5 win over East Stroudsburg in the PSAC East opener last Wednesday, Kakareka scored four goals on just six shots and also scooped up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. In a 15-7 win over Molloy in non-conference action on Saturday, she scored two goals and dished out two assists and picked up one ground ball. 


PSAC West Player of the Week
Leigh Titus, Lock Haven
Senior, Attacker
Towaco, N.J./Montville

Titus, last year’s PSAC West Player of the Year, scored 10 goals, five in each game, to lead Lock Haven to wins over Gannon and IUP last week. For the week, she also had an assist as well as four caused turnovers and seven ground balls. In an 18-6 win over Gannon, Titus scored five goals and had an assist. She then notched five more goals in a win over IUP, breaking the Lock Haven school record for career goals. She now has 215 career goals, which ranks third all-time in the PSAC, just 40 away from breaking the PSAC mark.
