PSAC Softball Athletes of the Week - 2
Lock Haven, Pa. - West Chester’s Sam Ingersoll is the PSAC East Player of the Week for the second straight week while Kutztown’s Katlin Arbogast put up impressive numbers despite a pair of tough-luck losses to earn the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week award. In the Central Division, Bloomsburg Shavaun Fisher tossed a no-hitter for the second straight week to earn her second straight Pitcher of the Week award while IUP’s Megan McCormick put up some eye-popping offensive numbers to lead the Crimson Hawks to a 4-0 record and earn Player of the Week honors. Gannon freshman Kels Fedell started her collegiate career out on a high note and is this week’s West Player of the Week while Edinboro’s Beth Mullins put up a notable performance on the mound in the Fighting Scots’ opener to earn the West Pitcher of the Week award.
PSAC East Player of the Week
Sam Ingersoll, West Chester

Ingersoll repeats as the PSAC East Player of the Week after her 7-for-12 performance (.583), three home runs and 11 RBI helped West Chester go 4-0 last week. Ingersoll also scored five runs, had a slugging percentage of 1.500 and an on-base percentage of .625. She hit her second grand slam of the season on Sunday and had five RBI in a win over American International and in a doubleheader sweep on Sunday with the win over AIC as well as a win over Assumption, had eight RBI and four runs. Ingersoll has hit a home run in each of West Chester’s last three games and has recorded a hit in all but one game so far this year.
PSAC East Pitcher of the Week
Katlin Arbogast, Kutztown

Arbogast went just 1-2 over the last week but pitched very impressively as she compiled a 1.86 ERA in 24.2 innings of work, struck out 35 and walked just seven and gave up only five earned runs and 15 hits in four appearances as she was victimized by a combined one run of support in her two losses. She took a loss on Saturday against Wayne State despite pitching a nine-inning complete game as she gave up three runs in the ninth inning and four for the game on just four hits in a 4-1 loss. Only two of the runs were earned and she struck out 11 and walked three. She came in for relief on the same day against Dominican and in a no-decision, pitched 2.2 innings and struck out three. She finally picked up a win for her efforts by pitching a complete game and allowing just three hits and one run while striking out 12 and walking three in a 3-1 win over Merrimack. She took another hard-luck loss in a 1-0 setback to Winona State as she threw another complete game, this one six innings, and allowed just one run while striking out nine and walking just one.
PSAC Central Player of the Week
Megan McCormick, IUP
Sophomore, 1B
Evans City, Pa./Seneca Valley
McCormick helped lead IUP to a four wins in the teams first four games of the season with two wins each on Saturday and Sunday in which the Crimson Hawks outscored their opponents by a combined score of 24-4. She hit .692 (9-for-13) with three doubles and a triple for a slugging percentage of 1.077 and had eight RBI and scored three runs. She also compiled an on-base percentage of .714 in the four games. In a 3-0 win over St. Xavier on Saturday, she went 2-for-3 and then went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, three RBI and two runs in a 9-3 win over Northern State. McCormick drove in two more runs, scored one and went 1-for-3 in a 6-0 win over Wilmington and finished the week with a 3-for-3 game with three more RBI in a 6-1 win over St. Cloud State.
PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week
Shavaun Fisher, Bloomsburg

Fisher earns her second straight PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week honor after going 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA and tossing a no-hitter for the second straight weekend to help the Huskies to a 4-0 record last weekend. She tossed her second no-no of the season with a five-inning performance against Assumption on Sunday, fanning eight and walking two. She also picked up a win against Millersville by allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven. For the week, Fisher allowed just three hits and one run in 12 innings of work while striking out 15 and walking five.
PSAC West Player of the Week
Kels Fedell, Gannon

In 12 games last week for Gannon, Fedell hit .433 (13-for-30) with four home runs, 13 RBI and five runs scored to help the Golden Knights to a 7-5 record on their spring break trip. She also hit .500 (8-for-16) with runners on base and .500 (7-for-14) with runners in scoring position and reached base five times in nine plate appearances in which she led off. Fedell had five consecutive multi-hit games during the week, including a 3-for-3 performance against Lynn in which she hit two home runs and had five RBI. She hit home runs in three straight games during the week as well, following up her two-homer game vs. Lynn with round-tripper against West Virginia Wesleyan and Walsh. Fedell slugged at an .867 clip for the week and reached base at a .514 clip.
PSAC West Pitcher of the Week
Beth Mullins, Edinboro
Junior, P
Brooklyn Park, Md./North County
Mullins, a first team All-PSAC West selection last year, picked up right where she left off last season as she opened her junior campaign with a three-hit shutout to help the Fighting Scots to a 4-0 win over Urbana on Sunday. Mullins struck out five and did not walk any in helping the Scots win their season opener.
