PSAC Softball Athletes of the Week - 7
Lock Haven, Pa. - Millersville’s Sarah Signore is this week’s PSAC East Player of the Week three weeks after she was named the PSAC East Pitcher of the Week. This week’s PSAC East Pitcher of the Week is Katlin Arbogast of Kutztown, who earns the award for the third time this year. Jen Stein of Mansfield and Sam Pientack of Bloomsburg are this week’s PSAC Central Co-Players of the Week, while Bloomsburg’s Shavaun Fisher is once again the PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week. Edinboro’s Aimee Sisson is the PSAC West Player of the Week after helping lead the Fighting Scots to a 5-1 record last week while California’s Lauren Shaheen is the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week after hurling three straight complete game shutouts last week.
PSAC East Player of the Week
Sarah Signore, Millersville

Signore hit .407 (11-for-27) with seven runs scored and five RBI in a busy 10-game week for Millersville in which the Marauders went 5-5. She did the majority of her damage at the plate in Millersville’s last four games of the week, as she went 8-for-15 and scored all seven of her runs on the week as the Marauders went 3-1 against Slippery Rock and Holy Family to finish the week. In the first game against The Rock, she went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI, including an RBI double. She then went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the second game. In Sunday’s first game against Holy Family, she went 2-for-4 with another RBI double and then finished off the week by going 1-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in the second game as the Marauders swept Holy Family to finish at .500 for the week. Signore has now been both a PSAC East Player and Pitcher of the Week this year, as she was also the Pitcher of the Week three weeks ago.
PSAC East Pitcher of the Week
Katlin Arbogast, Kutztown

Arbogast picked up three of Kutztown’s four wins last week in a 4-0 week for the Golden Bears, going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 18 innings of work to earn her third PSAC East Pitcher of the Week award of the season. She allowed five unearned runs, struck out 14 and walked just two. Arbogast picked up wins in both ends of a doubleheader sweep of Millersville, throwing a complete game in the first game, allowing seven hits and three unearned runs while striking out four in a 4-3 win. She then came out of the bullpen and threw four scoreless frames, allowing just three hits and striking out three to pick up the win in a 4-0 Kutztown victory in the second game. Arbogast then wrapped up the weekend by tossing her second complete game of the week, allowing six hits and two unearned runs while striking out seven in a 7-2 win over Gannon in the first game of KU’s Saturday twinbill sweep.
PSAC Central Co-Player of the Week
Sam Pientack, Bloomsburg
Sophomore, C
Archbald, Pa./Valley View
Pientack hit just .346 (9-for-26) for the week but put up tremendous power and run producing numbers in helping lead Bloomsburg to an 8-0 week. Of Pientack’s nine hits, five were home runs and she also had 14 RBI and scored eight runs, compiling a slugging percentage of .923 and an on-base percentage of .393 for an OPS of 1.316. She also homered in four straight games and ended the week on a five-game streak of multi-RBI games.. After starting the week just 2-for-11 with an RBI in the Huskies’ first three games, Pientack exploded in the second game of the doubleheader against IUP, going 3-for-3 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored to help the Huskies sweep the Crimson Hawks in a pivitol divisional twinbill. She then hit two-run homers in both ends of the Huskies’ doubleheader sweep of Lock Haven and added another two-run homer in the first game against Clarion. She ended the week by driving in two more runs and scoring once in the second game against Clarion.
PSAC Central Co-Player of the Week
Jen Stein, Mansfield

Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport
Stein helped Mansfield go 2-2 in four games last week, including the first two conference wins of the year for the Mountaineers. She hit .692 (9-for-13) with a home run, seven runs scored and six RBI. Stein compiled a .923 slugging percentage and a .733 on-base percentage for a 1.656 OPS. In a 16-8 win over Clarion, Stein went 2-for-3 with two RBI. In the Mounties’ other win of the week, a 7-6 win at home over Lock Haven, she also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
PSAC Central Pitcher of the Week
Shavaun Fisher, Bloomsburg
Junior, P
Coplay, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic
Fisher went 6-0 with a 0.78 ERA last week for Bloomsburg, helping the Huskies to a perfect 8-0 record on the week, including six wins in PSAC Central play as the Huskies took sole possession of first place in the Central Division. For the week, Fisher threw 44.2 innings and allowed just five runs while striking out 39 and walking just six. She started the week with a complete game two-hit shutout against Philadelphia last Monday, striking out 11 and walking just one. The next day, Fisher threw a 13-inning complete game shutout as Bloomsburg blanked IUP in a matchup of unbeatens in divisional play. She struck out nine and walked two in Bloomsburg’s 1-0 win. On Friday, Fisher started and won both games of a doubleheader at Lock Haven, allowing a combined eight hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking just two in 14 combined innings of work, both complete games. The wins snapped Lock Haven’s record 83-game home winning streak, handing Lock Haven its first home losses since the 2004 season. She allowed two runs in the first inning of the second game, which snapped a 32-inning scoreless streak. Fisher then wrapped up the week by picking up two more wins against Clarion in both ends of the doubleheader, one as a starter and one as a reliever. She allowed five hits and one run while striking out five in a complete game effort in the first game and then threw 3.2 innings out of the bullpen in the second game to notch the win.
PSAC West Player of the Week
Aimee Sisson, Edinboro
Sophomore, C
Bolivar, N.Y./Bolivar-Richburg
Sisson helped Edinboro to a 5-1 record last week as the Fighting Scots picked up two wins over West Chester in PSAC ‘crossover’ action and went 3-1 against Slippery Rock in PSAC West play. She hit .458 (11-for-24) with two home runs, 13 RBI and five runs scored. She also had two doubles. In a doubleheader sweep of the Golden Rams, she went a combined 5-for-7 with a two-run homer, seven RBI and two runs. In last Monday’s doubleheader split with Slippery Rock, Sisson drove in a run in each game. In Sunday’s twinbill sweep of The Rock, she went a combined 4-for-9 with four RBI and her second round-tripper of the week.
PSAC West Pitcher of the Week
Lauren Shaheen, California
Senior, P
Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield
Shaheen is the PSAC West Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week after going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA last week in three starts, all complete game shutouts. She yielded no unearned run either and gave up just 11 hits in 22 innings of work, striking out 23 and walking just two while holding opponents to a .151 average. The senior opened the week by tossing a 10-inning complete game shutout against IUP to lead California to a 1-0 win, striking out a career high 10. She followed that up with a complete game three-hit shutout on Saturday against Shippensburg, once again fanning 10 as the Vulcans once again won by a 1-0 score. Shaheen then closed out the week with a five-inning complete game effort to pick up the win against Lake Erie. Over her last 12 appearances, including eight starts, Shaheen has received the decision in each game, going 12-0 with a 0.28 ERA over 74 innings.
