A total of five football student-athletes from the PSAC signed free agent contracts with NFL teams in the time period following last month's NFL Draft through today, spanning roughly a month.

Edinboro QB Trevor Harris, California CB Terrence Johnson, California DT Willie Walker, California WR Dominique Curry and IUP OG Joe Tonga were the five PSAC athletes to sign NFL free agent contracts in the last month. They join IUP CB/KR Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who was drafted in the fourth round of last month's draft, in the NFL.

Harris signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars just moments after the conclusion of last month's draft. A record-setting signal-caller, Harris set numerous PSAC records over the course of his career and ended his career as a three-time first team All-PSAC West selection. (Harris release from Edinboro)

Johnson signed a free agent contract with the New England Patriots. Also a three-time first team All-PSAC West pick, Johnson finished his California career with 178 career tackles and 16 interceptions while being a four-year starter at cornerback. He led the team in interceptions in each of his four years with the Vulcan program and also was a standout on special teams.

Walker signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns after being named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year at the conclusion of the 2009 season. He finished his career as Cal's all-time leader in tackles for loss and totaled 180 tackles and 14.5 career sacks in his time with the Vulcans. (Johnson and Walker release from Cal)

Curry finished his career at California last season after completing a standout career at Cheyney in both football and basketball. An All-PSAC pick in basketball at Cheyney during the 2008-09 season, Curry played for the Wolves' football team for three seasons before sitting out his senior year to concentrate on basketball. After graduating, Curry matriculated to California to play his final year of eligibility with the Vulcans while enrolled in graduate school. Curry signed a free agent contract with the St. Louis Rams after trying out.

Tonga signed a contract with the New Orleans Saints after playing his senior season at IUP. The 6'5, 300-pound offensive lineman transfered to the Crimson Hawk program after playing at Florida State for the first three years of his career. He was a second team All-PSAC West pick last year.
