Florence, Ala. - Shippensburg's Zach Zulli was named the 27th Annual Harlon Hill Trophy recipient on Friday evening in Florence, Ala. at the Harlon Hill Presentation and D-II Football Hall of Fame Banquet.
Zulli received 202 points in the voting, 64 points more than runningback Michael Hill of Missouri Western State. Bloomsburg's runningback Franklyn Quiteh was also a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy and came in third.
Zulli is just the third PSAC athlete to win the Harlon Hill Trophy. In 2005, the PSAC also had two of the three finalists for the award. Bloomsburg runningback Jamar Brittingham was voted third overall, while East Stroudsburg quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger won the award. The only other PSAC player to win a Harlon Hill award is Irv Sigler, who was honored in 1997.
In addition to Zulli's winning of the Harlon Hill, former Kutztown linebacker John Mobley was inducted into Division II's Football Hall of Fame. Mobley is the second Kutztown athlete in the Hall of Fame, with Class of 2002 inductee Andre Reed being the first Golden Bear to gain entry into the Hall of Fame. Mobley, an All-American named to the Division II Team of the Quarter Century in 1997, was a starting linebacker for Kutztown from 1991-1995. Post-graduation, Mobley was selected 15th in the 1996 NFL draft and went on to win two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos as part of an eight-year NFL career.
