East Stroudsburg's Hoy Named PSAC Wrestling Champion Scholar

Edinboro, Pa. - East Stroudsburg's Joseph Hoy earned wrestling's PSAC Champion Scholar award announced Saturday at the PSAC Wrestling Champoinship hosted by Edinboro University. 

The PSAC Champion Scholar Award, begun during the 2011-12 academic year, is modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honors the student-athlete with the top grade point average that is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship final sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.
 
Hoy, a junior majoring in economics, holds a 3.77 grade point average and entered the Fall 2013 semester with 64 credit hours completed.
