Gannon's Jen Papich Named PSAC Champion Scholar Award Recipient for Women's Basketball Championship

Jennifer Papich of Gannon University has been named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the PSAC Women's Basketball Championship. She was presented with the award prior to Friday night's first semifinal between Gannon and Millersville.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Papich is the inaugural recipient of the award for the women's basketball championship as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and a graduate of Fox Chapel High School, Papich currently has completed 90 credit hours as she purses a major in biomedical engineering. Named the 2013 PSAC Women’s Basketball Western Division Athlete of the Year, Papich’s cumulative grade point average is 3.957.
