PSAC QUICK HITS
MOVING UP THE RANKS
• No. 7 IUP, No. 11 Bloomsburg and No. 19 West Chester each went up a notch in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches Poll.
• Both IUP and West Chester moved-up the D2Football.com poll as well. IUP moved from No. 9 to No. 8, while West Chester advanced two slots to No. 20. California (Pa.) made its first appearance on a national poll this fall, debuting at No. 25 in the D2Football.com rankings.
IT’S BEEN A WHILE
• Clarion’s 3-0 start to the season marks the best season start for the program since 1996. Clarion advanced to the NCAA D-II semifinals behind an 11-3 overall record in 1996.
• Lock Haven’s 2-1 record marks the first time since 2006 the Bald Eagles have enjoyed a two-win season. Lock Haven’s three-game home winning streak that dates back to LHU’s season finale victory over Cheyney marks the first time since 2002 the Eagles have won three-straight at Hubert Jack Stadium.
• Shippensburg’s Shannon Maura returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown last week against East Stroudsburg, marking the first kickoff return for a touchdown for the Raiders since October 3, 2009.
• Bloomsburg’s Interim Head Coach Paul Darragh is the first Bloomsburg coach to win his first three games since Jack Yohe in 1952. A win on Saturday would make Darragh the first BU coach to start his tenure 4-0.
• Kutztown’s freshman Alec Werner currently leads the conference with 346.7 yards passing per game. The last time a freshman has led the league’s passing game was East Stroudsburg’s Jimmy Terwilliger with 271.5 yards per game in 2003.
• Seton Hill hasn’t seen many familiar faces this season. Saturday marks the third-straight game that Seton Hill is meeting a team for the first time in program history. For the next two weeks, Seton Hill will line-up against first-time opponents in Shippensburg and Mercyhurst.
