Clarion's Emilee Gysegem Repeats as PSAC Women's Swimming Champion Scholar

York, Pa. - Emilee Gysegem earned Champion Scholar honors in women’s swimming, announced Sunday at the PSAC Swimming Championships in York, Pa. It is the second straight year that the Clarion senior has earned the honor, and fourth consecutive laurel for a Clarion women's swimmer.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.

Gysegem, a native of Warren, Ohio graduated from Lakeview High School in 2011. She holds a perfect of 4.0 GPA, while completing 125 credits towards her degree in business and sports management.
