Tyler Palenchak Named Men's Indoor Track & Field Champion Scholar Sunday, March 1, 2015 10:40 AM Edinboro, Pa. - Slippery Rock sophomore Tyler Palenchak earned the PSAC Champion Scholar award in men's indoor track and field, announced Sunday at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championship at Edinboro. The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Palenchak owns a 3.939 GPA while having completed 76 credits toward his degree in exercise and rehabilitative science. He is a native of Monroeville, Pa. and a graduate of Gateway High School.
