EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. --- Margaret Thorwart scored a penalty stroke goal with 7:13 remaining in regulation to boost Millersville to a 2-1 victory against Shippensburg in the PSAC Field Hockey Championship Game at Whitenight Field Sunday afternoon in East Stroudsburg, Pa.
 
The Marauders (17-4) won their fourth conference championship and first since 2013.
 
Thorwart was named the championship MVP following the contest.
 
The Raiders (17-3) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead following a Brooke Zeiders goal only 3:28 into the contest.
 
Millersville knotted the contest at one when Arianna Grays tallied a goal after a deflection on the far post off a penalty corner with 19:37 remaining in the second half.
 
Shippensburg wouldn’t go down easily as it took three shots in the final five minutes.
 
The NCAA Division II Field Hockey Tournament selection show is Monday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
--- The 2016 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Field Hockey Tournament field has been set after the conclusion of regular season play on Saturday, the league office announced.

Six teams will battle for the PSAC Field Hockey title start Tuesday while the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds earned a bye and will play in semifinal action on Friday.

East Stroudsburg earned the No. 1 seed after finishing with a 9-1 mark in PSAC play and a 15-3 overall record. ESU won the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2015. The Warriors will host the semifinals and finals and will play at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

Shippensburg claimed the No. 2 seed following a 16-2, 9-1 record in the regular season and earned a bye and will play Friday at 12 p.m.

ESU holds the tiebreaker after winning a head-to-head matchup earlier in the season.

West Chester impressed with a 12-6, 8-2 record and secured the No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 IUP at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Millersville swiped the No. 4 slot following a 14-4, 7-3 mark and will host Bloomsburg at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Bloomsburg is slated as the No. 5 seed while IUP defeated Kutztown on the last day of the regular season to secure the No. 6 seed.
