PSAC CHAMPIONSHIP - November 6 (West Chester, Pa.)

WEST CHESTER, Pa. --- Shea Neal scored a pair of goals to lead the East Stroudsburg women’s soccer team to a 2-1 win against Kutztown in the PSAC Women’s Soccer Championship Match Sunday afternoon at Rockwell Field in West Chester, Pa.
 
ESU claimed its third consecutive conference title and fifth in school history. Neal has garnered MVP merits in each of the last three seasons.
 
The contest was a rematch of the 2014 title contest.
 
KU took an early 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest when Felicia Silveira found the back of the net following an Alaina Curry pass.
 
Neal tied it at one at the 29:30 mark and scored the match-winner with 26:58 remaining in regulation.
 
Both teams took 10 shots while ESU held a slight advantage in corner kicks, 8-7.
 
The Warriors entered the week as No. 7 in the Atlantic Regional Rankings while Kutztown was No. 2. Tournament host, West Chester, was No. 1. The top six teams in each region earn a spot in the NCAA DII Women’s Soccer Tournament.
 
ESU clinched an automatic berth with the win.
 
The tournament bracket will be released Monday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.

CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The West Chester Golden Rams claimed the No. 1 seed for the 2016 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship while the eight-team field was announced following the conclusion of regular season play Saturday.

Four quarterfinal matches will be played Tuesday at the higher seed while the semifinal and final will be on the campus of the the highest remaining seed.

WCU enters postseason play with a perfect 16-0, 15-0 PSAC record and are No. 3 in NCAA Division II. The Golden Rams welcomes IUP at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Kutztown earned the No. 2 seed after producing a 13-3 mark in conference play and hosts Bloomsburg at 1 p.m.

Edinboro claimed the No. 3 seed with a 12-3-1 mark in league play while winning 13 matches overall. The Fighting Scots welcome Gannon at 1:30 p.m.

East Stroudsburg will host a quarterfinal after earning the No. 4 seed and battle Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.

Slippery Rock earned the No. 5 seed after earning 10 PSAC wins.

Gannon enters the postseason as the No. 6 seed after boasting a 9-5-2 conference mark.

Bloomsburg earned the No. 7 seed after a victory Saturday while IUP grabbed the No. 8 seed.
