York, Pa. - Edinboro sophomore Emily Kling has been named the PSAC Women’s Swimming Champion Scholar. The award was presented on Sunday morning prior to the completion of the PSAC Swimming Championships held at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.

A native of Jamestown, Pa. and a graduate of Jamestown, Kling has completed 69 credits towards her degree in health promotion and currently holds a cumulative grade point average of 4.00. Emily's sister, Erin, was named the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Champion Scholar in 2012-13 for California.
