California’s Morgan Huegel Earns Men’s Indoor Track & Field Champion Scholar Award
Edinboror, Pa. - California senior Morgan Huegel has been named the PSAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Champion Scholar. The award was presented on Sunday morning prior to the completion of the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Edinboro University.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
A native of Cranberry, Pa. and a graduate of Cranberry, Huegel has completed 128 credits towards his degree in mathematics in secondary education and currently holds a cumulative grade point average of 4.00.
