IUP’s Marina Wareham Named PSAC Women’s Basketball Champion Scholar
IUP senior Marina Wareham has been named the PSAC Women’s Basketball Champion Scholar. The award was presented on Saturday afternoon prior to the start of the PSAC semifinal matchup between IUP and West Chester held at West Chester University.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
A native of New Wilmington, Pa. and a graduate of Kennedy Catholic, Lundy has completed 125 credits towards her degree in exercise science and currently holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.80.
