PSAC Recognizes Winter Top 10 Student-Athletes
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference is pleased to announce its Winter 2016-17 Top 10 Award recipients, chosen and voted on by the league’s sports information directors. The PSAC Top 10 Awards are designed to recognize student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and in athletic competition.
Initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, the Top 10 is given to five males and five females in each athletic season; fall, winter and spring.
The Winter 2016-17 award winners are Slippery Rock’s Sabrina Anderson, Shippensburg’s Caleb Bartlett, Seton Hill’s Noah Davis, Slippery Rock’s Kennedy Evans, West Chester’s Tess Hayward, California’s Summer Hill, Pitt-Johnstown’s A.J. Leahey, Shippensburg’s Casey Norton, Slippery Rock’s David Reinhardt and Pitt-Johnstown’s Isaac Vescovi.
SRU’s Anderson appears on a Top 10 list for the fifth time in her career and third consecutive Winter Top 10. WCU’s Hayward lands on the list for the second consecutive year while SU’s Norton earns recognition for the second time this year after landing on the Fall Top 10.

Women's Indoor Track & Field - Senior
Major: Master of Business Administration (UG: Exercise Science)
Cumulative GPA: 3.91 (UG), 4.0 (G)
PSAC champion in pentathlon for the third consecutive year. Qualified for PSAC meet in multiple individual events. Anderson will finish her entire MBA program in one year and will have undergrad and grad degrees from SRU in just four years. 2015-16 PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar Athlete of the Year …. Four-time PSAC Top 10 honoree (every semester of eligibility so far) … PSAC all-time record holder in pentathlon indoors … First team All-American …. Davis averaged 16.0 points per game along with 3.9 rebounds per game. Noah added 32 assists and 13 steals and shot 45% from the floor, 39 % from three point land and 80% from the free throw line. He was 14th in the league in scoring, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. Also became the seventh player in school history to reach 1,000 career points. 200 free—1:50.47—10th at NCAA’s, PSAC Champion...500 free—4:50.13—4th at NCAA’s, fastest time in the PSAC this year and second fastest time ever in the PSAC...1650 free—16:44.06—6th at NCAA’s, third fastest time ever in the PSAC... Reinhardt threw an NCAA mark in the hammer throw in all six competitions he competed in during the indoor season and impressively improved on his career best every single week … he finished second at the PSAC Championships by a narrow margin with a career-best throw of 18.12 meters … That mark was the second best in the Atlantic Region and earned him All-Region honors … Even more impressively, Reinhardt missed the entire 2015-16 indoor and outdoor seasons after having Tommy John surgery on his primary throwing elbow...A former national champion in the javelin and a two-time CoSIDA first team Academic All-American...He has completed 64 credits in the rigorous doctorate program in physical therapy at SRU with a 3.89 GPA after completing 143 undergraduate credits and earning an exercise science degree with a 3.76 GPA … Reinhardt has been on the Dean’s List every semester at SRU throughout his 207 completed credits entering the spring semester … USTFCCCA All-Region honoree, USTFCAAA All-Academic Honoree … First team All-American in the javelin … two-time PSAC Top 10 honoree. |

To be a candidate for the PSAC Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials for their respective team. The winter sports eligible for consideration for the Winter Top 10 Awards are men’s and women’s indoor track and field, wrestling and men’s and women’s basketball.
At the conclusion of the academic year, all Top 10 Award winners from each season are eligible for the PSAC Pete Nevins Scholar-Athlete of the Year Awards, given to one male and one female candidate.
