Salem, Va. - In the final game of her career, record-breaking pitcher Kristin Erb, who holds the NCAA Division II all-time record for career wins, tossed a complete game, one-hit shutout and also drove in three runs at the plate to lead Lock Haven to its second national championship in program history with an 8-0 win over Alabama-Huntsville in six innings.

The win not only gave the Lady Eagles their second national championship in the last four years, with the other one coming in 2006, but it also avenged their only loss of the College World Series, as the Eagles had lost to the Chargers in the teams' second game of the championship back on Friday.

In winning the national championship, Lock Haven also tied the record for most runs scored at the World Series with 32. They also became the first team to ever win the national championship by the run rule in the championship game.

Ilia Lopez also drove in three runs for the Lady Eagles, who outhit the Chargers 10-1. Erica Eisenbise went 3-for-4 and Nancy O'Connor and Sarah Norris each scored two runs apiece.

It was a scoreless game for four innings before Lock Haven broke things open with three runs in the fifth. Erb had a two-run double with one out and Lopez drove in the other run with a sacrifice fly. The Lady Eagles then broke the game open in the top of the sixth with five more runs off three different UAH pitchers. Erb had an RBI single and Lopez had the big blow in the inning, a two-run double. Lock Haven also took advantage of a UAH error in the inning.
