Clarion, Pa. - Clarion rallied back after dropping a close first set to Edinboro and reeled off three straight set victories, including one by a nine-point margin and another by an 11-point margin, as the Golden Eagles won just their second PSAC championship in school history and their first since 1988 with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-14) win over Edinboro. It also marks the 15th straight year that a West team has claimed the volleyball tournament championship.
Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was tournament MVP Kellie Bartman. She hit .276 and had a match-high 22 kills and also had 11 digs, four blocks, two assists and a service ace. Kaitlyn Anderson had 14 kills while Rhianon Brady had 37 digs and setter Amanda Gough had 45 assists. For Edinboro, not a single player had double digit kills and the Fighting Scots hit just .075 as a team. They were led by Kelcie Helmer's nine kills. Four players had at least 10 digs, led by Angela Groshner's 16 while Megan Osysko had 31 assists.
