Lock Haven, Pa - Matt Bonson of Lock Haven has been awarded PSAC Athlete of the Week honors for his impressive showing at the Body Bar Invitational.

Bonson was dominant in winning the 141-pound weight class at the Body Bar Invitational hosted by Cornell, the No. 1-ranked team in Division I. Following an opening-round bye, Bonson pinned Cornell’s Quinton Leith in 2:55, which turned out to be the longest match of his four wins. In his second match he pinned Army’s Casey Thome in 54 seconds, followed by another pin, this one in 1:30 over Buffalo’s Andrew Schutt, seeded third in the weight class. In the championship round he downed Cornell’s Chris Villalonga in 1:44 to register his fourth straight pin on the way to the title. In addition to earning accolades from the PSAC, Bonson was also named Wrestler of the Week by the Eastern Wrestling League.
