California Captures Fourth Straight PSAC Women's Tennis Championship

Bloomsburg, Pa. - California raced away to three lopsided wins in the doubles matches and then swept both singles matches that finished to defeat Western Division rival Slippery Rock 5-0 to win its fourth straight PSAC women's tennis championship.
The Vulcans won their three doubles matches by scores of 8-2, 8-2 and 8-4. In singles, Jade Pondicas won in straight sets at No. 5, dropping just four games, while Axelle Fernandez did not drop a single game in winning at No. 6 in straight sets. The Vulcans were well on their way to winning in straight sets in both No. 3 and No. 2 while the matches at No. 1 and No. 2 were both even at one set apiece when the match was halted by California having clinched the dual match.
Bloomsburg took third place with a 6-2 win over Kutztown in the consolation match.
