Lock Haven, Pa. - For the first time in league history, the PSAC field hockey championship game will be televised live to a statewide audience. The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) will air the PSAC field hockey tournament championship game live at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. The game will also be available through a live webstream on pcntv.com.
This year's PSAC field hockey tournament will expand to six teams. Quarterfinals will be held on campus sites between the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds from each division next Tuesday, October 25. The semifinals are set for next Friday, October 28. Both the semifinals and championship game will be held at Shippensburg. Bloomsburg is the three-time defending conference tournament champion and has already clinched the East No. 1 seed and a bye into the semifinals. Shippensburg, the NCAA national runner-up last season, has already wrapped up the West title and a bye into the semifinals.
PCN has televised PIAA championship events and select regular-season high school events for several years but this will mark the first time that the cable network will televise a PSAC event. PCN will also televise the PSAC wrestling championships in December.
