Shippensburg Story With News Links

For the third straight season, an alum of a PSAC school will play in the Super Bowl as 2004 Shippensburg graduate John Kuhn will suit up for the Green Bay Packers as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers this Sunday in Super Bowl XLV in Dallas.

Kuhn, a two-time PSAC Fall Top 10 Award winner and CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American® in both 2003 and 2004 and the 2003 PSAC West Offensive Player of the Year, will become the second Shippensburg alum to play in a Super Bowl. Offensive lineman Rob Davis also played for the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII against the Denver Broncos in January of 1998. Kuhn, a fullback, will also become the first "skill position" player from the PSAC to play in a Super Bowl since Andre Reed, a Kutztown graduate, played in four straight Super Bowls for the Buffalo Bills in the early 1990s. Every PSAC graduate to have played in a Super Bowl since then has either been an offensive lineman or a linebacker.

This will be the third straight season that the PSAC has had a representative on the field for the Super Bowl. Clarion alum Reggie Wells was a starting guard two years ago for the Arizona Cardinals, who also played against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bloomsburg alum Jahri Evans was also a starting guard for the New Orleans Saints in last year's Super Bowl against the Indianapolis Colts.

This year's Super Bowl will be the 13th all-time Super Bowl that has featured an alum of a PSAC school. Kutztown's John Mobley, Doug Dennison and Reed played in multiple Super Bowls.
