Smith continued his winning ways by scoring three first-period falls in the Millersville-hosted East Regional Duals on Friday. Smith boosted his season falls total to 17, which places him at a first-place tie in Division I and a fourth-place tie among all NCAA wrestlers for total falls. He took down Campbell’s Peter Comis in just 28 seconds and followed that by pinning Gardner-Webb’s Erin O’Dell in 43 seconds. In his final match of the afternoon, he pinned Liberty’s Eli Sanchez in 1:21. In the process, Smith won his 80th career match and is now 25-9 on the year. He has won four straight matches by fall and seven of his last nine wins have been by pin.
