Lock Haven, Pa. - California's Melissa Gates is once again the PSAC Women's Swimmer of the Week after posting another pair of NCAA 'B' times last weekend in addition to breaking six pool records.

Gates won a combined eight events at California home invitational meet (three individual, five relay), posted two NCAA 'B' qualifying times and broke six Hamer Hall pool records and eight meet records in the process. Gates, who already owns the top times in both the PSAC and Division II in both the 50 and 100 free this season, won both the 100 free and 100 breaststroke in 'B' cut times. Her time of :51.02 in the 100 free, while slower than her fastest time of the year of :50.15, would still rank as the fastest time in the conference. Her winning time of 1:05.46 in the 100 breast, while still slower than her league-leading time of 1:03.92, would still rank fifth in the PSAC. She was also a member of all five winning relay teams - of which the 200 and 400 free and 400 medley set meet and pool records.
