Cal's Thompson & WCU's Snyder Claim Soccer Champion Scholar Awards
California's Stephanie Thompson and West Chester's Brett Snyder have been named the women's and men's soccer PSAC Champion Scholars for boasting the highest grade point average among student-athletes at a PSAC Championship site.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Award, begun during the 2011-12 academic year, is modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honors the student-athlete with the top grade point average that is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the
Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship final sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.
Thompson, a junior sports management major, holds a 3.94 grade point average through 64 credit hours. She hails from Queensville, Ontario and is a
graduate of Huron Heights Secondary.
