Bloomsburg's Timothy Dorsch Named PSAC Champion Scholar Award Winner for Men's Swimming Championship
Mechanicsburg, Pa. - Bloomsburg senior men's swimmer Timothy Dorsch has been named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the men's swimming championship. He was presented with the award on Sunday, the final night of the swimming championships.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Dorsch is the inaugural recipient of the award for men's swimming as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.
Dorsch is a native of Schwenksville, Pa. and a graduate of Souderton Area High School. He was compiled a 3.90 cumulative grade point average while majoring in secondary education and German. He was currently accumulated 106 credit hours.
