Butler, Pa. - Eric Bradley, a junior infielder on the Gannon baseball team, has been honored with the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the conference basebal championship. He was presented with the award prior to Gannon's first game of the tournament on Wednesday morning.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Bradley is the inaugural recipient of the award for the baseball championship as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.

Bradley is a native of Mount Pleasant, Pa. and a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He is also the third Gannon student-athlete to win a Champion Scholar Award during the current academic year, following Arlen Mase (Wrestling) and Kelly Nickerson (Women's Golf). A junior majoring in exercise science/pre-med, Bradley has compiled a 3.976 grade point average while completing 92 credit hours.
