Lock Haven, Pa. - Bloomsburg sophomore midfielder Aubrey Bossert has been presented with the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the women's lacrosse championship. She was given her award on Friday afternoon prior to Bloomsburg's semifinal match against West Chester.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 89 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 89 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III. Bossert is the inaugural recipient of the award for the lacrosse championship as the Champion Scholar Awards are being initiated during the current academic year.

Bossert has currently completed 54 credit hours and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.943 while majoring in exercise science. A native of Ambler, Pa., she is a graduate of Wissahickon High School. She is also the third Bloomsburg student-athlete to win a Champion Scholar honor this academic year, joining Bryce Shaffer of men's soccer and Timothy Dorsch of men's swimming.
