Summer STATaday is a daily statistic that highlights athletic facts to engage fans, institutions, and participants from around the PSAC during the summer months. Statistics concerning all facets of athletics within the conference will be released Monday through Friday capturing athletic events and highlighting individual and team success from the 2012-13 academic year. As you go about your day, don’t forget to check the PSAC Summer STATaday!

Week 10: August 12th - August 16th

Tuesday, 8/13:
Wallace named to the PSAC Top 10
 
East Stroudsburg University junior men's soccer player Khriswayne Wallace was named to the PSAC Top 10 for athletic and academic achievement for the Fall 2012 sports season.  He started 14 games at center back for the Warriors in his third season as a starter. He is a two-time Academic All-District selection, two-time All-PSAC first team and two-time All-Region player.  He was named to the Daktronics All-Region team as a freshman in 2010 and NSCAA All-Region team as a sophomore in 2011. This marks the fifth consecutive Top 10 list with at least one student-athlete from ESU, the longest current streak in the PSAC. The Warriors have had a representative on 11 of the last 12 PSAC Top 10 lists.

Week 9: August 5th - August 9th

Friday, 8/9: Cal lands three on All-Region Teams
 
The California University of Pennsylvania volleyball team featured three players on the Daktronics All-Atlantic Region Teams, including senior middle hitter Meghan Franz with a first-team all-region selection.  Fellow seniors Kelly Fromknecht and Brandy Harris earned second-team accolades. Franz leads the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with a career-high .383 hitting percentage, which ranks as the third-best mark in single-season school history.  A three-time All-PSAC West selection, Fromknecht ranks second on the team and fifth in the league with a .299 hitting percentage. Harris leads the team and ranks fifth in the PSAC with 3.08 kills/set.

Thursday, 8/8: Record setting season for Harner
 
Jake Harner had a tremendous rookie season for the Huskies qualifying for the PSAC in seven individual events, posting two NCAA 'B” cut times and setting three individual school records and four school relay records. At the PSAC Championships he set individual school records in the 100-breast and 200-IM with marks of 56.88 and 1:52.40. In the 200-IM he also finished third to earn All-PSAC honors with his time being an NCAA “B” cut time. Back in November he also set the school record in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:05.76. In relay action at PSAC's Harner was part of four relays that set two school records and earned two All-PSAC honors. In the 200- and 400-medley relays the Huskies set new school marks with times of 1:34.33 and 3:27.17.

Wednesday, 8/7: Lady Wolves set three school records
 
The Cheyney Women’s Track and Field team set three school records at the Battle of the First.  Jasmine Pitt posted a 5:24.75 to set a new Cheyney record in the 1500m.  The 4 x 100 relay team of Jasmine Carter, Simone Carter, Ashley Quattlebaum and Shanavia Thomas also posted a new mark finishing the relay in 47.50.  Cheyney’s Shali Muhammad held off Jillian Lee in the 400 hurdles and crossed the line in 1:06.28 to set a new school record.

Tuesday, 8/6: Rondell White sets single-season records for WCU

West Chester University senior running back Rondell White set the single-season school record for rushing yards last fall at 1,548 on 280 carries, and scored 11 rushing touchdowns.  White also set a school record for receptions by a running back in a single season while tying for the team lead with 51 catches for 624 yards and seven touchdowns.  White led the nation, averaging 200.2 all-purpose yards per game in 2012.  He was the only West Chester football player to be named to the second team offense by Lindy’s Sports 2013 College Football Preview edition. He joins 11 other players from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, who were named to either the first or second team on both offense and defense.

Monday, 8/5: Multiple All-Region runners for Clarion
 
Ciara Shorts and Megan Toddy of Clarion Women's Cross Country team both earned All-Region honors with Top 25 finishes at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. Shorts finished 16th for her second straight All-Region honor, while Toddy earned her first All-Region award with an 18th place ending. It is the first time since 2002 that Clarion has had multiple All-Region runners in the same season.  Shorts became the first Golden Eagle to have back-to-back All-Region honors since Erin Richard in 2006 (11th) and 2007 (4th) and ran a time of 21:48.5.  Clarion, behind Shorts and Toddy, was 14th at the meet.

Week 8: July 29th - August 2nd

Friday, 8/2: Haddad earns All-America honors
 
In his first season with the Golden Bears, Ziad Haddad finished fourth at the NCAA National Championships to earn All-America honors and placed second in the PSAC Championships. Kutztown's only nationally ranked wrestler, Haddad was ranked sixth at 285 as he had just five losses all season and led the team with 27 wins. A team-high 14 of those victories were bonus wins in the form of five falls, eight major decisions and a technical fall. Kutztown wrestling named Haddad as their 2012-13 MVP and he was also awarded the 2013 Kutztown Male Athlete of the Year

Thursday, 8/1: Four scholars of distinction for Slippery Rock Field Hockey
 
Slippery Rock led the nation with four student-athletes named to NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honors for owning a GPA of 3.90 or above following the fall semester.  The Rock also led the nation in the total number of National Academic Squad honorees (3.30 GPA or above) with 19 players and posted the second highest collective team GPA in the nation.  The Rock foursome that earned the Scholar of Distinction honor includes: Courtney Bradshaw, Lindsay Brown, Melissa Newmark, and Casey Young.  Slippery Rock finished the 2012 season ranked No. 9 in Division II and was ranked for a school record seven consecutive weeks in the top 10.

Wednesday 7/31: Kiara Brown continues to rack up accolades
 
Edinboro's Kiara Brown continues to rack up accolades following a standout senior season, being named to the Women's Division II Bulletin All-American fourth team.  The 5'8'' guard finished the season as the leading scorer from the PSAC at a career-high 17.3 points per game.  Brown is the ninth player in EUP history with 1,100 points.  Brown led all Fighting Scots scorers in 15 contests this year and recorded double figure points in 25 of the Scots' 29 games. The two-time, All-PSAC West first team honoree ranked fifth in the PSAC in field goal percentage (.383, 163-for-426). Defensively, Brown finished with the second-most thefts in the PSAC with 86 (3.0 spg), and shot over 77 percent (137-177) from the free throw line.

Tuesday 7/30: Hopkins breaks his own record at PSAC Championships
 
Brandon Hopkins starred for the Crimson Hawks as IUP competed in the final day at the 2013 PSAC Men's and Women's Swimming Championships.  Hopkins wrapped up the PSAC championships by destroying his own record in the 1650 yard freestyle, finishing in third place with a time of 15:53.31. The time was nearly 15 seconds ahead of the school record of 16:08.11 he set at last year's conference meet. It was also an NCAA provisional time.  The Crimson Hawks finished up the PSAC championships with three conference titles.

Monday 7/29: Lock Haven’s playmaker set single-season school-record

Chelsea Borrino of the Lock Haven University Women’s Lacrosse team was the school’s playmaker for the 2013 season. Her 78-points lead the Lady Eagles and her 62 assists are an LHU single-season school-record. Her 62 helpers are the fifth-most in all of Division II and she's ranked fourth in assists-per-game in the nation. Borrino earned IWLCA Division II All-American honors, All-South Region honors, and first team All-PSAC honors. Borrino set a new school and PSAC record for most assists in a single game (10) against Mercyhurst.

Week 7: July 22nd - July 26th

Thursday 7/25: A Pair of Panthers Finish in Top Ten on National Stage

Travis McKillop (184) and Dave Cawley (141) of the Pitt-Johnstown wrestling squad both finished in the top ten to earn All-America honors at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Wrestling Championship in Birmingham, Ala. McKillop finished third and was ranked at No. 6 in Division II upon entering the championship. In his final dual of the championship, McKillop defeated third-ranked Adam Walters of Findlay, 4-2, to clinch the bronze. Gary Lantz, Evan Link, Keith Ryan, and Josh Duplin also represented Pitt-Johnstown in the tournament. UPJ finished above all other participating PSAC schools with a 14th place finish and 108 points.

Wednesday 7/24: White, player of the year

Shippensburg University junior Bre White was named the 2012 Longstreth/NFHCA Player of the Year. She is the second Shippensburg player in three years to be named the NFHCA Division II Field Hockey Player of the Year. The 2012 PSAC West Player of the Year and NFHCA South Region Player of the Year led the Raiders with both 17 goals and nine assists for 43 points this season, as her 2.15 points-per-game average ranked eighth in Division II. White has been named to the All-PSAC West First Team unit and to the NFHCA First Team All-American squad in all three of her collegiate seasons. She has already totaled 52 goals (sixth-most all-time at SU) and 34 assists.

Tuesday 7/23: Coyne produces historical season

Robert Coyne of the Millersville Men’s Golf team produced a historical season by becoming just the second golfer in school history to qualify for the NCAA Division II Championships as an individual. He finished runner-up among 108 golfers at the NCAA Atlantic/East Super Regional and tied for third at the PSAC Championships in the fall. Coyne is the first Marauder since 2007 to earn All-PSAC honors and was earned PING All-Atlantic Region honors. He held final round leads in both tournaments and recorded two victories this season, leading the team in scoring average. Coyne tallied six top-10 finishes and eight top-25 finishes. Over the 2013 season, Coyne shot nine rounds of even-par or better and placed sixth or better in four of the first five tournaments of the season.

Monday 7/22: Mountaineer Softball rewrites history

It was a historic season for the Mountaineer softball team who won its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) division title and had the first All-American in program history in 2013. Overall, the Mountaineers set five individual records and four team records. The 2013 Mountaineers were dangerous at the plate and it showed with team marks being set for extra base hits (105), doubles (67) and home runs (32) in a season. Not only could the Mounties hit, but the pitching staff did its part in setting a team record with 254 total strikeouts.

Week 6: July 15th - July 19th

Friday 7/19: Golden Knights Golf, first NCAA appearance since 1989

The Gannon men's golf team participated in its first NCAA postseason event as a team since 1989 Monday, May 6 at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional hosted by West Liberty University at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia. Gannon was one of seven Atlantic Region teams to receive at-large bids to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Gannon has recorded top-five finishes during seven of 11 events this season, including four of the five spring invitationals. The Golden Knights' best finish came after placing second out of nine teams during their spring invitational.

Thursday 7/18: Sanner makes history

Seton Hill sophomore Mallory Sanner became the first National Champion in Seton Hill University history. Sanner earned the national championship and All American honors with a first place finish in the javelin at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Neta & Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl at Colorado State-Pueblo. Sanner set a new personal and Seton Hill throw record with a toss of 49.3m (162-2 ft.). That throw is also the eighth best throw in Division II history. Sanner entered the championships with the 12th best throw in Division II during the 2013 season.

Wednesday 7/17: Bohince finishes seventh at NCAAs

Mercyhurst’s Willie Bohince capped off his freshman campaign with a seventh-place All-America finish at the 2013 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, defeating Gannon's Matthew Turek by an 8-0 margin to wrap up the season. The 125-pound rookie finished his stellar first season in a Laker uniform with a 35-7 mark and highlighted a quartet of Lakers representing Mercyhurst University at the Division II Championships Festival in Birmingham, Alabama. In his rookie season, Bohince set program records for most victories in a season by a freshman and most major decision victories in a season by a freshman with nine.

Tuesday 7/16: Rehrig, 7x All-American

Senior Brittany Rehrig of the Lock Haven University swim team capped off a brilliant career, which leaves her as one of Lock Haven's most all-time decorated swimmers. Rehrig became a seven-time All-American at the 2013 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships when she placed eighth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke. She was second in the same event at the 2013 PSAC Championships. The standout-Lady Eagle competed in three different events at this year's NCAA Championships and won the 100-breaststroke at the always-strong IUP John A. Pidgeon Memorial Invitational in mid-November. Along with being a two-time PSAC Top Ten award winner, Rehrig is a seven-time All-American, a three-time Academic All-American and she holds nine school records.

Monday 7/15: PSAC football in the ranks

The final 2012 NCAA Super Region One rankings revealed five PSAC schools received top 10 votes (Ship, Bloom, IUP, Mer, Cal). Shippensburg led the way stealing the No. 1 slot, with Bloomsburg and IUP taking fourth and fifth, respectively. In the AFCA coaches rankings, three schools (IUP, Ship, and Bloom) received top 25 votes. IUP received 545 points with a 12-2 record for seventh, while Shippensburg received 349 points with a record of 11-2 to rank in the top 15. Bloomsburg finished in the top 20 with 263 points and a 10-2 record.

Week 5: July 8th - July 12th

Friday 7/12: Vega, ESU's top doubles record

East Stroudsburg’s Annie Vega landed a spot on the All-PSAC East women’s tennis singles team for the 2012-13 season. Vega was 9-8 in singles, going 1-1 at No. 3, 6-3 at No. 4 and 2-3 at No. 5 in dual action. She had ESU’s top doubles record at 12-8, including a 7-1 record with sophomore Taylor Presby. Vega is 13-26 in singles and 28-24 in doubles entering her senior season. Along with the All-PSAC accolades, Vega was named ESU’s team MVP. The Warriors finished the season with a 5-12 record, including PSAC East wins over Shippensburg and Cheyney.

Thursday 7/11: Candelmo sets NCAA record

Mansfield baseball’s Joe Candelmo inked his name into the NCAA Division II baseball record books after shattering an 11-year-old record for fewest walks allowed per nine innings. Candelmo posted the fewest walks allowed per nine innings of any Division I, II or III pitcher in the nation this season (minimum 50 innings pitched) with the second fewest being Mitch Renz of DI Cal St. Fullerton who issued just three walks in 115.2 innings for a .23 average. As a senior, Candelmo posted a 4-4 record in 10 appearances on the mound with a 3.97 ERA. He threw five complete games and went at least 5.2 innings in each of his starts. Candelmo totaled 55 strikeouts on the year. He was selected to 2nd Team All-PSAC East honors as a starting pitcher.

Wednesday 7/10: Gannon Swimming, best conference record in school history

The Gannon women's swim team made school history with a third-place finish out of 12 teams at the 2013 PSAC Championships hosted by Indiana (Pa.) at Cumberland Valley High School. It represented the best conference finish in the history of the Gannon women's swimming program. Gannon brought the four-day championships to a close with a bang as the 400-yard freestyle relay team met NCAA “B” cut standards with a bronze medal during the final event. In all, both Gannon swim teams broke nine school records and recorded 29 NCAA “B” cut times during the four-day PSAC championships.

Tuesday 7/9: Shippensburg Baseball, Atlantic Region Title

The Shippensburg University baseball team, seeded fourth in the Atlantic Region, posted 10-3 and 3-2 victories over No. 3 seed Seton Hill to claim the 2013 NCAA Atlantic Region Baseball Championship and advance to the College World Series for the first time since 2008. The Raiders were ranked as high as No. 12 in the Baseball News coaches’ poll this season and finished with a 32-23 record with an Atlantic Region title to earn the program’s fifth appearance in the national championships. Shippensburg has posted its second consecutive 30-win season and third total under head coach Matt Jones. Five members of the Shippensburg University baseball team are staying active throughout the summer by participating in various leagues: Austin Bartley, Michael Douglas, Cal Hogan, Pat Kregeloh, and Jimmy Spanos.

Monday 7/8: WCU, Back-to-back Champions

West Chester Field Hockey tied the school’s single season record for wins (20-2) while securing its second straight NCAA title and sixth national championship in program history. West Chester’s back-to-back NCAA championships mark the first such accomplishment for the school in any sport. WCU won four straight AIAW field hockey national championships (1975, 1976, 1977, 1978) and in two seasons as head coach, Amy Cohen is 37-6 with a pair of national championships and one conference championship. West Chester ended the 2012 season on a 10-game winning streak. The Golden Rams landed four players on the 2012 Longstreth / National Field Hockey Coaches' Association Division II All-America squad.

Week 4: July 1st - July 5th

Wednesday 7/3: Mitchell Port, Wrestler of the Year

After being named the EWL Wrestler of the Year, Edinboro's Mitchell Port was selected as the PSAC Wrestler of the Year. This marks the 14th straight year that an Edinboro wrestler has been selected the Wrestler of the Year. Port completed his sophomore season as the runner-up at 141 lbs. at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship. He finished the year with a 34-4 record with six falls, a technical fall and seven major decisions. Port entered the NCAA Championship tournament as the number four seed and extended his consecutive match winning streak to 19 in Des Moines, IA. Port won his first EWL championship with a 6-1 win over Dan Neff of Lock Haven. He also won his second PSAC championship. Port will bring a 64-14 career record into his junior season. He finished with a 30-10 record as a redshirt freshman, reaching the round of 12 in his first trip to Nationals.

Tuesday 7/2: Kutztown Softball, making history

The Kutztown Softball team took a season-high 14-game winning streak into the national title game for the first time in school history after advancing to the semifinals for the first time last season. Despite the setback and disappointment of not coming home with a championship trophy, the Golden Bears closed out a remarkable and record-breaking season. The team won its first-ever Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship and its second Atlantic Region Championship. Kutztown graduated four seniors from this year's team, each of whom was a four-year starter and has left their mark on the program. The Golden Bears finished the season with a 37-22 overall record and 9-7 conference record.

Monday 7/1: Fleming led Cheyney in tackles

Cheyney’s sophomore linebacker Isaiah Fleming was named first team All-PSAC East by the conference’s 16 football coaches. Fleming led the Wolves in tackles with 107 tackles including 10.5 tackles for loss (35 yards). He was also credited with two forced fumbles and one interception. Against Shippensburg, Fleming had arguably his best performance with a career high 15 tackles in one game. Fleming was the only Cheyney player to get recognized this year. Last year as a freshman, Fleming also led the Wolves in tackles. During the 2011 campaign he recorded 92 tackles, 57 solo. He also had 5.5 tackles for loss as well as a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Week 3: June 24th - June 28th

Friday 6/28: Friday 6/28: Shull set new record for Clarion

Clarion senior backstroke specialist Kayla Shull set a new school record and placed fifth in the 100 backstroke leading Clarion to a 17th place at the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. Shull earned her 15th career All-America award while placing fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.62. In the prelims she set a new Clarion record with a time of 55.40, topping her own record time of 55.45. An exceptional student, as well, Shull was named a Capital One First Team Academic All-District 2 selection. She was selected as the PSAC’s nominee for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year award, having graduated in May with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Speech Pathology & Audiology major.

Thursday 6/27: West Chester wins 15th consecutive title

In winning the 2012-13 title, The West Chester men's swimming team claimed its 15th consecutive PSAC Swimming Championship. The title is the 25th all-time for West Chester which surpasses Clarion for the most in PSAC history. West Chester freshman Bradley Strathmeyer was named the PSAC Men’s Swimmer of the Year and is the fourth consecutive Golden Rams swimmer to win the award. Strathmeyer set a PSAC record in the 1650 free, touching the wall in 15:31.57.

Wednesday 6/26: Kutztown women’s tennis, making history

The Kutztown University women's tennis team wrapped up its part of the 2013 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships with a 5-3 victory over Millersville University in the consolation round. The win over Marauders (8-13) marked the first time the Golden Bears (10-8) have recorded double-digit match wins since the 2009-10 season (10). In singles, senior Rachel Grula earned her career-high ninth win this season, while in doubles, senior Ridhima Borooah and Hannah Pipkin won their 10th match of the season as a pair. It also marked Borooah's 11th win in doubles this season. Kutztown finished a perfect 6-0 in the PSAC regular season and earned the Eastern Division title for the first time in school history.

Tuesday 6/25: Taylor inks professional basketball contract

Slippery Rock University senior men's basketball standout Devin Taylor signed a professional contract to play for the Etzella Ettelbruck Basketball Club in Luxembourg for the 2013-14 season. Taylor finished his three-year Slippery Rock career with 1,141 points and 750 rebounds. He averaged at least 11.8 points per game in all three years at The Rock and finished with career averages of 13.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Taylor ranked second in the PSAC and 12th nationally in rebounding. He also led the PSAC and ranked ninth nationally in double-doubles with 14 games in which he scored 10 or more points and grabbed 10 or more rebounds.

Monday 6/24: Bloomsburg women’s soccer earns NSCAA National Academic team award

The Bloomsburg University women's soccer team was honored as a 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Academic Team for the first time in program history. Bloomsburg and Shippensburg were the only Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) programs named to the academic team. Individually, the Huskies had junior Lauren Kreglow selected to the Capital One/CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District soccer team announced earlier in the 2012 season. It was her first career recognition from CoSIDA after holding a 3.95 grade point average. Bloomsburg finished with a record of 6-10-1 in 2012 and return 10 seniors next season.

Week 2: June 17th - June 21st

Friday 6/21:
Miles Invited to the NFL Combine

The California University of Pennsylvania football team was represented at the NFL Combine for the third-consecutive year, as defensive back Rontez Miles participated at the event in Indianapolis, Ind., at Lucas Oil Stadium. Miles joins former teammates Josh Portis (2009-10) and Rishaw Johnson (2011) as the only players in school history to attend the NFL Combine. Miles is one of only nine players from NCAA Division II programs invited to attend the annual event, which is attended by the top executives, coaching staffs and player personnel departments from all 32 teams. Miles was selected a First-Team All-American by American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP) and D2Football.com for a second-straight year in 2012. He established a career high with 75 tackles (43 solo) and also tied for fifth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with four interceptions. Miles was signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets and is still with the team following OTA's.

Thursday 6/20: Mercyhurst Volleyball Serves One of the Best Seasons in Program History

The 2012 Mercyhurst volleyball team had one of the best seasons in program history, earning its third NCAA Tournament berth in the last five seasons. Mercyhurst won its most matches since 1993 and defeated every other team in the PSAC Western Division for the first time since joining the conference prior to the 2008 campaign. The Lakers ended their season with an overall record of 25-11, including 11 consecutive wins. At the end of the year, three Lakers were honored by the PSAC. Elyse Texido was named Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Year, while Becky Smith and Becky Leusch were both chosen for the Western Division Second Team. Texido became the first Laker to be selected to the PSAC West First Team since Jenna Matson in 2008.

Wednesday 6/19: Dukes, 1st 3-time NSCAA All-Atlantic member for Millersville Men's Soccer

Andrew Dukes became the first Millersville men's soccer player to be named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Atlantic Region team in three consecutive seasons. The junior was named to the second team for the 2012-13. This season Dukes led the PSAC in assists (7), was second on the team in points (19), as he tallied a point in 63 percent of Millersville’s games this season. Dukes sits in seventh place in program history in goals (24) and points (59) throughout his first three years as a Marauder.

Tuesday 6/18: IUP Sweeps Conference Awards

IUP's Alexa Lodovici, Drew Hayden, and Mindy Richmond were named the PSAC Athlete of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively for the 2012-13 season. This is the first time that any PSAC school has swept the athlete, freshman/rookie, and coach of the year awards as a part of the entire conference. Lodovici’s 175 career goals and 292 career points are both first all-time while her 125 assists are second at IUP. Hayden finished the season with 33 goals and 35 points. Richmond earns coach of the year honors after leading the Crimson Hawks to the best season in program history as they finished 13-3 and advanced to the semifinals of the PSAC championships, falling to West Chester.

Monday 6/17: Gillette, 1st T&F Raider to earn PSAC award

Matt Gillette was named the 2013 PSAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year after earning a pair of All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships and breaking a conference record during the regular season in the 3,000 meters. Gillette is the first Raider to earn the PSAC award in its current iteration. He received his first of two All-America citations this season by serving as the anchor leg and posting an impressive 1,600-meter split of 4:03. The Raiders’ winning time of 9:45.24 broke the championships meet record, facility record and PSAC record.

Friday 6/14:
Xuan named AVCA All-American for fourth time in her career

Gao Xuan of the Lock Haven University volleyball team has earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American status for the fourth time in her career, becoming the only volleyball player in conference history to earn Player of the Year honors four times. She led The Haven to a 26-11 overall record this season, 16-3 in the PSAC and helped LHU reach its second straight PSAC Championship match and 15th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. Xuan led the team with 493 kills this season and averaged 3.82 kills per set. Xuan's 493 kills are the seventh most in a season in Lock Haven History.

Thursday 6/13: Lefever, lowest score in championship

West Chester University junior Connor Lefever shot a career-low 66 in the second round of the PSAC Championships last October where he finished third individually. He carried a 73 stroke average through the team's six tournaments in the fall portion of the season. Lefever placed 22nd at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional to conclude his 2012-13 campaign. Lefever was named to the Golf Coaches’ Association of America Ping All-Atlantic Region squad and spent his junior season as West Chester’s No. 1 golfer, leading the Golden Rams to the NCAA Atlantic Regional in Wheeling, W. Va. He is the first golfer to earn all-region accolades under current head coach Harry Hammond.

Wednesday 6/12: Papich Champion Scholar Award and Athlete of the Year

Junior Jennifer Papich of Gannon University was named the recipient of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the PSAC Women's Basketball Championship in the 2012-13 season. At the time of the championship, she had completed 90 credit hours in pursuit of a biomedical engineering degree. Named the 2013 PSAC Women’s Basketball Western Division Athlete of the Year, Papich’s cumulative grade point average is 3.957. She was the second Lady Knight to be named PSAC Western Division Athlete of the Year since Gannon joined the league five years ago and was named to the All-PSAC Western Division first team for the second consecutive season. Papich was the only league player to be named Champion Scholar, Division Athlete of the Year and CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Tuesday 6/11: Soltes’ 666 yards total offense

East Stroudsburg University quarterback Matt Soltes, a redshirt freshman who started the final seven games of the year, set an NCAA (all-division) freshman record with 666 yards of total offense at LIU Post, throwing for 535 yards and running for 131 yards as part of a dynamic 2012 season. His performance at LIU Post was also the top single-game mark in DII this season. The PSAC East Freshman of the Year, Soltes ranked 12th among all quarterbacks in both total offense (315.8 yards per game) and pass efficiency (157.5), going 171-for-281 for 2,622 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions and running for 536 yards and two touchdowns on 96 carries.

Monday 6/10: Edinboro Women’s Soccer team- No cards

The Edinboro University women's soccer team stands as one of nine teams to receive Gold Team Ethics Award honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Team Ethics Award is earned by exhibiting fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to laws of the game. Gold honorees earned the accolades for not receiving a single yellow caution card or red ejection card during the course of the 2012 season. Edinboro completed 20 games and more than 1,868 minutes of game time without receiving a penalty this past year.
