NOVEMBER 25-DECEMBER 1 Men's Basketball: East Athlete of the Week Charles Pemberton Mansfield (Sr./ F) St. Kitts, Va. / Charlotte Amalia Mansfield’s Charles Pemberton averaged 21.0 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 68% from the floor in a 1-1 week for the Mounties. The senior forward scored 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds in a 63-60 win over previously undefeated Le Moyne. The senior forward followed with a double-double in a 94-81 setback at Franklin Pierce scoring 27 points and pulling down a game-high 10 rebounds while shooting 71% from the floor and dishing out a career-best four assists. Men's Basketball: East Freshman of the Week Sam Light Millersville (Fr. / G) Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon Sam Light helped Millersville to a 2-0 week by averaging 12.5 points, shooting 40% from 3-point range and 90% from the charity stripe. Light totaled nine points, three rebounds and an assist in the Marauders’ overtime 81-77 win over Chestnut Hill and followed that performance by hitting 3-of-6 3-pointers and 7-of-8 free throws for a career-high 16 points in a 75-63 win over Goldey-Beacom. He scored 11 of his points in the final 12 minutes of the game, which helped Millersville pull away for a double-digit win. Men's Basketball: West Athlete of the Week Ian Vescovi Pitt-Johnstown (Sr./ F/C) Patton, Pa. / Cambria Heights Pitt-Johnstown’s Ian Vescovi led the Mountain Cats to a 66-56 victory over Saint Rose with 13 points and nine rebounds alongside a pair of assists and two blocks. In a five-point overtime setback against The University of the Sciences, Vescovi tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. He finished the week averaging 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per outing. Men's Basketball: West Freshman of the Week Daniel Sapp California (Fr. / G ) Streetsboro, Ohio / Streetsboro California’s Daniel Sapp averaged 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while playing 19.0 minutes off the bench last week in a pair of victories for the Vulcans. He scored in double-digits in both games after totaling just one point through the opening five games of his career. Sapp finished with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting and added four rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes in a 108-70 win against Penn State-Greater Allegheny. The Ohio native then totaled 10 points, five rebounds and two steals in an 86-80 victory at Urbana. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Women's Basketball: East Athlete of the Week Adreana Sadowski Bloomsburg (Jr. / F) Fleetwood, Pa. / Brandywine Heights Adreana Sadowski led No. 20 Bloomsburg to an upset win over No. 11 Edinboro last week. The junior forward totaled 12 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, an assist and a steal in the victory. Sadowski then notched a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, including six offensive boards, in a 71-59 win over the University of the Sciences. On the week, the Brandywine Heights product averaged 11 points and 11 rebounds per game, while shooting 55% from the floor. Women's Basketball: East Freshman of the Week Vicky Tumasz Shippensburg (Fr./ G) North Wales, Pa. / North Penn Shippensburg’s Vicky Tumasz played more minutes than any player while coming off the bench during the Raiders’ 3-0 week. She sunk 12-of-19 (63.2%) from behind the arc and averaged 16.3 points per game. The North Penn product led Shippensburg against Dominican with 20 points in 29 minutes of action, including a 6-of-9 from 3-point range performance and three assists. She was named to East Stroudsburg's Pocono Classic All-Tournament team, finishing with 33 points, five rebounds, three steals, and three assists in three victories. Women's Basketball: West Athlete of the Week Lindsay Stamp IUP (Sr./ G/F) Erie, Pa. / Mercyhurst Prep Lindsay Stamp led IUP to a victory in the Hawks’ only action last week. The senior netted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists and two blocks in a win over previously unbeaten Shepherd. Stamp was 6-of-14 from the floor, including 50% from behind the arc. The Erie, Pa. native currently leads the PSAC with 22.8 points per game and is second in 3-point shooting percentage with 53.6%. Women's Basketball: West Freshman of the Week Alexandra Hay Seton Hill (Fr. / G) Barrie, Ontario / East View Secondary Alexandra Hay’s 11 assists in a win over Carlow were good for the third-highest assist total for Seton Hill since becoming an NCAA member. The Ontario native added seven points and five steals in the 93-47 non-conference victory. Against Johnson C. Smith, Hay recorded 13 points, while adding three assists, two steals and a pair of rebounds. On the week she totaled 20 points, 14 assists, eight rebounds, and seven steals, while shooting 57% from the floor. Standings | Statistical Leaders | Schedule/Results Wrestler of the Week Slade Horner Clarion (Jr. / 165) Ridgway, Pa. / Ridgway Slade Horner was 2-0 on Sunday for the Golden Eagles despite the team losing 38-3 to Rider and 25-13 to Penn. Horner won his first bout at 165 with a 3-0 victory over Rider's Andrew Reca. He notched a second period escape and takedown for the win. He then had a 13-0 major decision win over Quinton Hiles of Penn. Ahead 2-0 entering the second period, Horner posted an escape, takedown and a three and two-point near fall to surge ahead 10-0.
