Zanella and O'Connor Highlight PSAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Postseason Accolades

Alexandra Zanella has been named the PSAC Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, while East Stroudsburg’s
Christina O’Connor has claimed the PSAC Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.
Erin Harman of Millersville has earned the PSAC Freshman of the Year title, while the league’s head coaches selected
Dave Osanitsch of Shippensburg as the PSAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.
Zanella clinched All-America honors at the 2015 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in the women’s mile. She placed fifth with a time of 4:52.43, and won the mile at the league championship with a time of 4:59.67. The junior, named the PSAC championship’s Most Valuable Track Athlete, also won the conference title in the 800m run crossing the finish line in 2:16.16. Zanella ended the year ranked first in the league in the mile with her NCAA championship time and third in the 800m (2:15.07). Zanella is the first ever PSAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Year from California.
O’Connor, a three-time All-American, finished sixth at the 2015 NCAA Championship in the high jump with a clearance of 1.73m (5’ 8”). The senior is East Stroudsburg’s fourth three-time All-America honoree. She won the league high jump title with a height of 1.78m (5’ 10”), the league’s top mark of the season and provisionally qualified her for the national championship. O’Connor is just the second PSAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Year from East Stroudsburg, as Leslie Martin earned the accolade in 2007.
Harman clinched All-PSAC status with a second place finish in the pole vault with a season-best clearance of 3.56m (11’ 8”). Her NCAA provisional mark at the league championship bested her previous school record and landed her USTFCCCA All-Region honors. Her height finished the year ranked fourth in the league and 36th in Division II. Harman is the first ever PSAC women’s indoor track and field major award winner from Millersville.
Osanitsch has earned his sixth PSAC Women’s Indoor Coach of the Year distinction, and his fifth in the last six seasons, as he guided the Shippensburg women’s team to its sixth PSAC title and its fifth in the past six years. Osanitsch, in his 10th season at the helm of the program, guided a field of 21 different Raiders that contributed to Shippensburg’s 126 points at the conference championship. Osanitsch was also named the PSAC Coach of the Year in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
