PSAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 9 Tuesday, November 1, 2016 2:30 PM Volleyball Athletes of the Week: Northwest: Kelsey Ansec (Jr.) Gannon (OH) Solon, Ohio / Solon Ansec crushed a combined 26 kills in the two weekend matches against Kutztown and East Stroudsburg. She also had a .333 hitting percentage and four block assists. Ansec averaged 4.33 kills per set over six sets. The Lady Knights won both matches in 3-0 sweeps and improved to 22-3 overall and 11-2 in the conference. Southwest: Catherine Ferragonio (Jr.) Clarion (L) Irwin, Pa. / Irwin Ferragonio was in complete control of the back row defense for the Golden Eagles this past weekend, helping them to two important wins in the race for PSAC Tournament seeding, including a victory over reigning PSAC Tournament champion Shippensburg. She averaged 6.62 digs per set, totaling 53 total digs over the course of two matches, and helped a Golden Eagle defense that held opponents to just a .091 hitting percentage in two matches. She started the weekend with 28 digs against Millersville, an average of 7.00 digs per set, and then totaled 25 against the Raiders. Southeast: Sarah Smith (Fr.) East Stroudsburg (OH) Circleville, N.Y. / Pine Bush Smith had a career-high 24 kills in ESU's five-set defeat to Mercyhurst on Saturday, and her .246 attack percentage in that match was her third-highest of the PSAC season. The freshman led ESU in kills in both matches over the weekend added 10 digs on Saturday for her fourth double-double of the season. Central: Marissa Erminio (Jr.) Pitt-Johnstown (OH) Hopwood, Pa. / Laurel Highlands Erminio amassed 35 kills in a pair of wins for Pitt.-Johnstown. The junior produced 19 kills and a pair of block assists in a win against Seton Hill Friday. She followed suit with a 16-kill effort Saturday in a win against California. Erminio added 11 digs, including eight against Cal.
