Kutztown's Jordan Morgan Named PSAC Football East Division Offensive Player of the Year

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- Kutztown redshirt senior Jordan Morgan has been named the 2016 PSAC Eastern Division Offensive Player of the Year while KU head coach Jim Clements was tabbed Eastern Division Coach of the Year by a vote of the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon in conjunction with the release of the all-conference football teams.
 
Morgan is the first offensive lineman to win the award in PSAC history. The Golden Bears finished with season with a spotless 7-0 mark in divisional play and appeared in the PSAC Football Championship against No. 6 California. Morgan is the fifth player from KU to garner the award and the first since 2011. He is a two-time first-team all-conference selection and will be playing in the Reese’s Senior Bowl Jan. 28, 2017 in Mobile, Ala.
 
Clements becomes the third KU coach to earn PSAC Eastern Division Coach of the Year merits and first since 2011. The Golden Bear defense allowed 27.1 points per game while running back Craig Reynolds led the league in rushing average (108.1). KU won seven consecutive contests after starting the season 0-3 to run the table in the East Division.
 
KU quarterback Collin DiGalbo earned PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Year after throwing for 10 touchdowns. The Secane, Pa., product is the ninth Golden Bear to earn the merit while teammate Tajier Jefferson claimed the honor last season.
 
Shippensburg senior linebacker Allen Holman claimed the PSAC Eastern Division Defensive Player of the Year award after posting 89 tackles and a pair of interceptions. Holman spearheaded a defense that allowed 17.0 points per contest.
 
East Stroudsburg’s Robert Healy and Bloomsburg’s Lawrence Elliott landed on an all-conference team for the fourth time each.
 
West Chester’s Doug Gilbert and Kutztown’s Kellen Williams earned first-team all-conference recognition for the third time in their respective careers.
 
WCU led all East teams with 13 selections while KU posted 11.
 
Shippensburg occupied nine slots while Lock Haven and ESU had seven.
 
BU filled in six while Cheyney had two.
