INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Basketball teams will participate in the NCAA DII Women's Basketball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday evening.
The tournament field consists of 64 teams that's made of eight eight-team regions.
California (28-3) earned the No. 1 seed and will host the Atlantic Regional. The Vulcans will open the tournament against Glenville State.
IUP (23-6), the PSAC Women's Basketball Champion, grabbed the No. 2 seed and will battle Johnson C. Smith in the opening round.
Shippensburg (24-6) earned the No. 4 seed following a semifinal appearance and will face PSAC foe, Mercyhurst (23-7), who earned the No. 5 seed.
First round games will commence Friday, March 10 and second round games will be Saturday, March 11.
The Atlantic Region final will take place Monday, March 13.
The Elite Eight (March 21), Final Four (March 22) and NCAA DII Championship (March 24 at 7 p.m.) will take place in Columbus, Ohio.
