PSAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 7 Tuesday, October 9, 2018 2:30 PM VOLLEYBALL CENTRAL DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Maura Brehl Pitt-Johnstown (Sr. / OH) York, Pa. / York Suburban Brehl produced a match-high 22 kills and 29 digs in 5-set win at Shippensburg on Wednesday. The senior tied for match-high with 18 kills and had 14 digs in sweep over Millersville on Friday. She tied for match-high with 25 kills and had 15 digs in five-set loss to West Chester on Saturday. VOLLEYBALL NORTHWEST DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Ashley McClung Gannon (Fr. / S/RS) Charleston, W. Va. / George Washington McClung had a pair of standout performances that helped 23rd-ranked Gannon extend its winning streak to eight matches. She started in conference home wins over California (Pa.) (10/5/18) and Seton Hill (10/6/18).. The freshman had 11 kills against Cal and a game-high 20 against Seton Hill. She \it .455 against Cal and .348 against Seton Hill. McClung added a combined 11 digs and four block assists in the two matches. She has posted 10+ kills nine times this season. VOLLEYBALL SOUTHEAST DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Sarah Smith East Stroudsburg (Jr. / OH) Circleville, N.Y. / Pine Bush Smith led the Warriors in kills per set (4.00) and was second in digs per set (4.08) during a 2-1 week against PSAC competition. The junior recorded double-doubles in all three matches, including 18 kills (.300%) and 20 digs (two off her season high) in a four-set win at Bloomsburg on Saturday. She has posted double-doubles in nine of the past 11 matches, and has totaled 10+ kills in 12 straight matches. Saturday's victory allowed the Warriors (17-4, 7-2) to maintain a one-game lead over West Chester in the PSAC Southeast standings heading into a pair of division matchups next weekend. ESU and West Chester will face each other for the first time this season at 1 p.m. on Saturday at ESU. VOLLEYBALL SOUTHWEST DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Leah Bisignani Seton Hill (Jr. / MH) Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic Bisignani helped the Griffins to a 2-1 week with 31 kills in three matches. She had a match high 18 kills in the win at Mercyhurst. She also added 17 blocks on the week including a match high 8 in the loss at Gannon.
